I was 9 years old when I first discovered the genius of SNL, and for some reason it was because of a "Crystal Gravy" bit - which was a fake commercial spoofing Crystal Pepsi, but with... gravy. There's a scene where Kevin splashes it on his face in the shower like it's refreshing, and that was it. I lost my mind. Just so happens it aired in 1993, same year as Conan's debut. These are two of my comedy heroes, and it's so nice to see some genuine sincerity between these absolute legends.

I don’t know if it was a falling out per se, but I don’t think Conan likes Norm as much as people might think. Conan said himself the comedians he admires most are those who work really hard. Norm’s entire career has basically been getting by on talent alone and putting virtually no effort into any of his projects. Conan thinks Norm is hilarious, don’t get me wrong, but he’s not friends with him and I don’t think he really respects him as a person. A couple years ago Norm said some disparaging things about Hannah Gadsby’s special Nanette which got public attention and Conan had her on his podcast shortly thereafter. He hasn’t had Norm on his show since and hasn’t had him on his podcast, which is pretty telling.
