I have a peanut allergy and had a roommate that told me something didn't have peanuts in it, gave it to me, and luckily I checked the ingredients before eating it. I asked what he thought peanut butter was made of and the look on his face told me he had never even considered the correlation until that moment.

just recently almost died because of a nut allergy. that RANDOMLY DECIDED TO HAPPEN at the ripe age of 28. after almost 15 years of drinking my hazelnut coffees and peanut chocolate, my body decided to DIE during a zoom meeting. I didn't know wtf was happening. my skull was on fire. and didn't call 911 until I was already experiencing anaphylaxis. lmfao the pain of going through anaphylactic shock is unbearable. rather be stabbed. and I've been stabbed. such a bullshit allergy. literally something out of a horror movie watching an alien rip out of someone's stomach! my body was going through convulsions. for a person dealing with suicidal tendencies all my life, that's the only time I feared death. my God. 😭😭😂😂
@anonaguy3008 Жыл бұрын
I didn't even know that was a thing. Is it like late onset diabetes? So extended exposure over 15 years eventually made your body go "never again" to all nuts? That sucks.

@@anonaguy3008 Anaphylactic allergies can sometimes just manifest for no known reason, and also sometimes disappear for no real known reason. It's pretty awful.
@anonaguy3008 Жыл бұрын
@user-tj8ub4of2c that's crazy... but it makes it sound like there should be a way to actually cure allergies if they appear and disappear for some people.
@ori-yorudan Жыл бұрын
@@anonaguy3008 the problem with anaphylaxis is that it's similar to a defective auto-immune response. Your body identifies something it thinks is dangerous, then massively over-reacts to it, fires on all cylinders and then your body accidentally kills itself in the process. So it's not like a disease that can be identified and cured, the solution would be to identify how to rewire the body to respond differently to certain proteins, which is a lot harder, and something we haven't figured out yet.
