well thats what this is, comedy. if it gets too techical people will just give up and switch channels to other late night show. Its something i dont like, but if you want your information on serious matters, theres always informational videos and speeches and books. Its something they have to do to make it entertaining.
@Sandesh981475 жыл бұрын
@Great White It is. I totally agree with you. but to reach larger audience and get them intrigued. Which isvery important as well. even in todays age where science has gone to the levels which were unseen even 50 years ago, a lot of people are still unaware of it. even you and me arent aware enough of the wide spectrum that science has reached. Only awareness can make us intrigued in this. I got into reading science by a biography of Richard Feynman which has nothing to do with science. We need mainstream people like conan do these kind of interviews so that impressionable people can get intrigued and go search for it.
@Sandesh981475 жыл бұрын
@Great White I said it before on some other thread, but ill repeat here, Its a show, unlike a maths class, so they have to be engaging and funny with audience. If it gets too technical and people get bored, theyll just switch channels to other late night show. Thats why it needs to be done. When an actor comes to the show, they dont talk about the nuances and technicalities in acting, and that goes fine. Its similar thing. late night shows arent a platform to spread knowledge, theyre targeted towards light entertainment. For the people who seek knowledge, theres ted talks to get them interested in a topic, theres other documentaries and educational programmes, theres books and podcasts for the cause. Late nights show air for a very different purpose, thats why you saw what u did. Its not very enlightening for anybody trust me, but it does trigger people who are genuinely curious like u seem to be to go dig for real knowledge.
@Progbassist5 жыл бұрын
@@Sandesh98147 I get that its a comedy show and there must the right balance of comedy and more serious talk. Alex Johnson Maintaining the comedy? We have very different tastes in comedy then because not once did I find him funny. And I didn't feel awkward for Brain Cox because of how dumb Conan was - it was awkward because of the unfunny statements and retarded sounds he was making - he just happens to be dumb also. Conan interrupts too much; the time to interrupt is when you have a dull guest, and you need to add in some humour, or when you need to get to the film or record that somebody is there to promote. In this case, Brian Cox is telling a fascinating story that doesn't need embellishment. Let him finish talking, then make your comments.

First of all let me say that I would prefer to sit down and have a conversation with Professor Brian Cox as oppose to this comedianne of a talk show host and the writer of the above comment. It just goes show that people do not listen. The professor started to talk about time travel but because the host was a clown and loves the sound of his own voice the Professor did not get to explain himself on the subject matter. I'll make this brief, the statement above is utter alien. "Time Travel" and "Teleportation" are two different things. Yes, once these two projects/modes of travel have been fully experimented and certified you will understand their differences. Teleportation is like standing at one bus stop in London and then arriving at a bus stop in New York in a matter of seconds may be minutes but once fine tuned, it should really be in seconds. Just like making a phone call. Time travel is more of a dreamware anti psychosis procedure. When you time travel you will not be there physically just in mind hence you will not be able to change anything. Time travel can take you back into the past and also into the future. We all have 6 senses but only a tiny percentage of the worlds population knows how to use the later. Just LISTEN to me for a moment, the host of the show obviously only has four senses. Can you guess which sense he lacks?

olbear303 the cancelling of funding for the superconducting supercollider isn't exactly a "fun" fact is it. That machine would have collided protons and antiprotons at highter energy levels than CERN, it would have put the United States back on the science map. The fact that America needs to be in a war to progress in fields of science is terrible. Well maybe NASA is being flushed there's always DARPA, who will probably lead to us being removed from the map.
