Shallots, tomatoes.. Conan stood his ground when it came to British vs American pronunciation! Wish he told Gordon that the plural of shrimp is shrimp, not shrimps. Gordon could have then told Conan that Brits call that particular type of seafood prawns, not shrimp.

brits use prawn as a blanket term for non-tiny shrimp but shrimp and prawn in the uk like any other country are still taxonomic (scientific) terms for specific species with distinct qualities. you can tell by the curved form that those are shrimp. plus prawn species are generally larger, though size is a more accurate/consistent culinary distinction than a taxonomic one. gordon was either being technical or trying to sound american
