Teaming up with /r/starcitizen Discord to capture an Idris

We got word that an Idris was up for grabs on a server thanks to some members of the /r/starcitizen discord channel. Scrambling on short notice, we geared up and shipped out to snag it and prepare to defend it against the rest of the server.

Thanks to everyone who showed up to participated in both defending the Idris and those that fought us as well! It was a lot of fun for an impromptu defense of an Idris against an entire server. It was interesting defending the Idris. I assumed it would be impossible due to, well, if you ever had to PvP with big ships you know that they are incredibly weak at both defending themselves and being defended as a fighter. But due to the sheer firepower and amount of HP it has, this thing can really hold its own. Even more so with some fighter support fending off boarders. Here is hoping CIG can improve on this event as it had major stumbling issues out the gate. See you all in the next one. o7

As much as the overall structure of the event sucks, big teamfights like this are always a blast ! I just wish it was easier to access and get into such fights because finding a server with an idris just sucks

Yeah, their biggest flaw was designing the event not in away that the Idris would be on every shard.

@@Traumglanz They could also have said something that encourages to seek players to fight instead of avoiding contact. Rewarding kills while inside Idris for example would probably been a good idea. This would include pilot, turrets and just FPS combat inside. Maybe unique kills to avoid just killing friends to pad the stats. People will always find a way to bend the rules.
