I posted this because some of you were having trouble accessing the podcast. In this episode, I talked about how you should respond when the interviewer asks you to tell him/her something about yourself.

Dear Coach Lyqa; This does not contradict your advice, but for the sake of job seekers who may be thinking about how will they begin to address the questions on "Tell me something about yourself", I would still recommend HR personnel to consider RESTATING information even if it's already written in their resume for Two (2)reasons: 1. To confirm that what has been stated in the CV is the same information narrated PERSONALLY. This is for HR to assess the LEGITIMACY of information from Names, career background, academics, and all things stated up to the bottom of the CV. Do not just rely authenticity of information on paper. 2. To let the candidate ELABORATE or to tell FURTHER information about her personal information and professional background, and by doing so, you really have to start with going through all the things stated in the CV. Asking the candidate "Tell me about yourself" shouldn't be asked anymore when the interviewer isn't interested to know anything that is written in the CV, because literally, most of the major information about the candidate has been already stated in the CV including job experiences the task they have been doing with their previous company. So what else the candidate should tell you? The candidate would feel harder for them to express themselves and feel uncomfortable if information about her limit outside what has been stated in her CV. That is his PROFILE na. Over the years, I have been in the field of HR. Instead of asking the interviewee to tell me about himself, I usually begin the question by "Can you tell me your skills and attributes you have regarding the position you are applying for" - This is the main purpose of the interview and their answers are definitely not stated in the CV. Just my Two Cents.

For the past few months while i was on medication, i've been watching your interview tips and it helped me alot especially because i've been working on my communication skills. Today i passed the final interview for CSR but unfortunately there was a mock call and i have no experience in BPO industry so i don't know any of the scripts. And here I am! after so many weeks of job hunting, rejections, and failed job interviews, I am now moving to orientation and contract signing! meron po akong isang inapplyan na company and surprise po yung interview nila dahil via phone po at hindi talaga ako nakapag ready ng sasabihin, nasanay kasi ako sa mga previous work ko na nag txt sila to inform na may interview ako, but nitong nakaraan hindi talaga kaya, and that day I'am super busy dahil nag sideline ako para may pangdagdag sa pang araw araw saamin, and then ayun tumawag ung company na gustong gusto kong mapasukan, at ito po yung first question na tinanong sadly di ko ako naging satisfy sa sinagot dahil very short lang at iyon siguro ang naging dahilan kung bakit hindi ako natanggap dahil di ko napaimpress yung HR,,.. Kaya thank you po sa Video na ito, ngayon kahit surprise call interview na alam ko na kung paano sisimulan,,, Hays sana noon pa lang tinignan ko na may ganito plang tips sa KZbin..

This is 2 years ago and I'm using it for a mock interview in school now. Am I taking this mock interview so seriously? Anywaysss really learned a lot and Thank youuuu pooooooo sobraaaaaa 😍😍☺️☺️

Hi po, ate Lyqa. Pinaghandaan ko po talaga itong question. Pero noong tinanong ako ng ganitong tanong parang hnd iyon ang hinahanap na sagot ni mam interviewee. Parang gusto niya na e-introduce ko talaga yung sarili ko. Kasi upon answering ko sa tell me about yourself, she asked na taga ganito pala ako, tinanong niya din kung ilan kameng magkakapatid. Hnd ko na po natapos yung dapat kong sabihin. 😢 Kaya ayun, nadiscouraged ako. Lahat ng pinanood ko sa advices sa youtube is to introduce yung mga beliefs, yung sinasabi niyo po na advocacy/current organization pero parang di naman po yata lahat ganun yung hinahanap na sagot. 😭 Update ko po kayo kung mahahire po ba ako o hinde. 😥😥😥
