Given the scale of the crowd, the importance of that match, the awful tee shot and the pressure, I just think Rory pulled a piece of magic out the bag. You can see how good that shot was by the reaction on his teammates’ faces. Tiger’s chip on the 16th at Augusta was a hit and hope. He got lucky, but in fairness, it could be argued he got lucky a lot in his heyday - pure skill and class. A lucky one nevertheless and Nike loving every millisecond the ball hovered over the hole with their logo standing out. But……the sheer skill Rory displayed to stop that ball was unbelievable, Yes, I’ve watched a lot of golf, played a lot too and I’ve never seen a better chip.
