Brady criticizing Minshew. OK, I get it. But don't act like you never led Wes Welker or Edelman into being crushed by a DB. Because that's on tape.

@@Itsjustjoe064 That's why Welker and Edleman were slots. Damn good ones at that. Josh Downs is a damn good slot receiver for the Colts as a rookie. He's going to be a beast. But what does white have to do with it? Surely you can do better than that. I don't judge skin tone. I judge character.

@@marvinhunt8276 I just said white boys cause I didn’t feel like spelling out their names, nothing against white wide receivers but don’t let that cause you to miss my point… they would’ve never been great without going over the middle and being able to absorb those hits, and very rarely did they take bigs hits

Brady was just trying to gas himself up with his comments. QB's aren't 100% accurate and also can't know where every defender is on the field all of the time. Brady also threw plenty of hospital passes himself, so it's pretty hypocritical to be criticizing Minshew in this situation.

I have no problem with violent hits. I have a problem with the intent. It’s clear that the defender had no intent of making a play on the ball and every intent to make a violent hit. Pittman is a DAWG just like his father was and the fact that he walked away from that play and looks to play in the next game should light a fire under the whole roster. #ColtsNation

Good discussion on this topic. As a fan my gut reaction is toss this dude out To be fair a more in depth conversation is needed like this. I was surprised at the season suspension but still as a fan I was thinking he deserved it. Acting on emotions of course. Objectively a repeat offender and how many of those hits might cost a player a career. Set a number and be consistent. I also don't want touch or flag football I like a good hit.
@bernechad

Kinda same feels from me. But then to see tape of the dude getting fined multiple times for this same shiz all season, makes lean towards more agreeing with the season suspension(which is 3 games). I don't necessarily think he's headhunting or dirty, but a trend is a trend for a reason.

EJ Speed is kind of in the wrong on this. He just said “it happened in a second, he put his head down and closed his eyes and didn’t know where he was gonna land on the hit” that’s definitely what the nfl is trying to get rid of. That ball was almost uncatchable and safety put his head down and dove while Pittman was stretching.

Also in response to Brady... If the only way the DB can make a play is to crush a defenseless receiver, then the DB was already beat. He should have put himself in a better position to defend the pass. That's like saying in a basketball game a defender can just grab a guy about to dunk and throw him to the ground, and cop out by saying "what, was I supposed to just let him dunk?!" If you're beat and the only way you can stop being beat is to break the rules and endanger another player's health, then you're just beat. Period.

Of course. It was all about himself. If they didn't try to catch those passes Brady was a crybaby that would yell at his receivers. It was all about padding his stats. And don't you dare tackle Brady in front of some of the refs. Flag flag flag. He was protected more by refs than his O'line. Period.

The league is too much take not enough give. You can’t keep adding penalties to a sport without giving more freedoms in other aspects. Z if totally right, it’s going to become a different game. The rule changes and penalties are destroying the integrity of the game we all know and love… safety and fines are one thing…. But this hip drop bullshit is the beginning of the end if they end up going thru with it.. its a step too far imo

Brady needs to chill on the QB talk. I personally think the NFL play is at an all time high, which is bringing “pocket qbs” back down to earth. Just because they want to eliminate the hard hits that lead to injury doesn’t mean the game has regressed.

Brady was speaking from a QBs perspective and people should listen to him as if he were a coach. He is about as intelligent as it gets at the position. The hit was brutal. It didn't make me think the defender was dirty or anything. Looking at the play, I think the defender lacks situational awareness. The way he braced himself was almost like he was having an "oh shit" kind of moment. By the time he realize he did wrong, it was too late. I think you can position yourself to succeed or to fail, and I think (not intentionally) he positions himself to fail. You want to put a big hit on a guy to make sure he remembers you were there. You want to hit him hard enough to knock the ball out. You don't want to injure the guy. I just don't think the defender has learned how to position himself to legally inflict a hard hit. I'm not a defender, but it seems like it would be a real art to the position. Then again that is why you guys get paid the big bucks and I don't 🙂 I am glad Pittman is okay. That could have easily turned out much worse.

To say when Pittman laid out for the ball aye you can’t separate man from ball is crazy Pittman laid out cause your qb threw a bad ball 😂😂😂 I agree past plays of bro he should’ve be fined for but this was on the qb and wr and if it’s was your teammate on the other side y’all would feel differently not saying it was a crazy hit but that was on the offense tell qv throw a better ball
@dernify
@dernify 9 ай бұрын
It was definitely a hospital pass, but the DB had a decision to make. Play the ball or play the receiver. He chose to take the receiver's head off instead of going for the ball. Tell the defender to not be a dumbass next time. Most fans like the contact aspects, but don't like seeing malicious intent in tackles. You only feel the way you feel because you're likely a steelers fan. If the guy that got injured played for your favorite team, you'd feel differently. Especially if the guy that injured him had a reputation for that kind of bs.
