I spent almost 2 days surfing pipeline before I finally was able to commit to a wave. This reminded me so much of that mental battle I was fighting with myself. Im getting on a bit 54 yrs im a roofer and scaffolder, work at heights , no scaffold, i take risks but theyre calculated so always come home safe, This blew my mind , the amount of courage to do this and the calculation and decision making. Guys im in awe , this is hardcore athletics , people will say well why risk it , i dunno , well i can see why, this is hardcore professionalism, like your at the top of your game in a very dangerous sport and it buzzez you up. Callum's was probably 4.24 metres (size 8 * 16 steps) with a death drop - this one was 6.16 metres (size 9 * 22 steps) . Interesting to look at the feet position on the first attempt of both jumps - they were almost exactly the same, but Callum basically couldn't afford to bounce of so somehow powered over. Both jumps absolutely fucking wild.

Because the guy's a pro, I don't believe for a second that he didn't measure that distance & measure the roof-run & practice on flat ground until he knew he'd nail it. Then this is the setup to make it seem more dangerous than it is. Now that I've seen him jump I do believe he practiced beforehand, knew the exact distances, & learned them well because he did far better than the first guy who really landed about 3' below the wall, brining his left knew up to his chest & his right led 3' down the wall, maybe 4', where he was motionless until he could pull himself up from his landing point. This guy out jumped him by at least 4' on that 2nd jump. Great piece of work. Love watching pro's who know what they're doing.
