i found out that one of the best versions of the deck is not with dragun and halqifibrax but actually with magician souls, crackdown and basically fllodgates(an alternative for draw power would be perfomapal popperup, card of demise and fabled cercubel for the discard and synchro plays),trap cards can be easily refunded with awakening and added to hand to be used again, and unironically use hyper blaze and have uria control with traps.(Uria is suprisingly very good against backrow decks and if you get hyper blaze with floodgates on field you can bait attacks and otk. also hyper blaze can mill traps you need so you can add them in hand with awakening). I would be remove the dragun engine, put 3 crackdown, 3 cerulian sky fire, 3 awakening, 1 hyper blaze, maybe 2 anti-spell and put either performapal popperup, allure or hand destruction. The sacred beast ratios could be whatever you see fit. At the end of the day, this is supposed to be a control deck, and combos make it vulnerable and bricky. For a side deck you can have handtraps but also backrow hate.

But: this does not always come from skill, but rather from going first, having a good matchup and/or a bad opponent/the benefit of an opponent, that has not sided yet.

William Spencely Actually it does. The difference between a sacred beast with halq and one without is one plays halq and some good staples while the other plays extrav and super poly. Your main way to address your opponent is through the continuous trap to just say no to your opponent’s effects. At least halq version can still play if their board gets kaijud or lava golemed

Given my personal play style with the deck after getting my hands on 3 of the structure deck, I feel like you butchered you’re starting hand. Though I understand it’s personal preference and play style. I run it as a chore deck strength style, I would activate the spirit gates to search for Hamon or Raviel (my personal favourite), activate cerulean sky fire to set up my board, summon chaos summoning beast to special into Hamon or Raviel and end by banishing chaos summoning beast to set and activate fallen paradise for two more cards. The best draws being awakening of the sacred beasts or dark beckoning beast.
