Worth mentioning his B1+2! Insane range + armor. His Zantetsuken finisher (1+4) when you have 5 gauges is crazy cause it acts like a second rage art (tons of damage) + leaves no recoverable health!

That tracking mid +7 on block from across the screen is absolutely bonkers… shouldn’t have all that. They should at least put it to 0 on block. Counter play is literally non existent atm. They steal your turn after getting in and your reward for blocking is that you gotta block again because you can’t move after those frames.

It's a strong tactic. You can float the startup or power crush if they overextend, but once you block the counterplay is block more.

I don't think it's that bad of a move. It's main use is when transitionning into a mixup because it's a safe plus on block option if your opponent respects the stance. From neutral you can react to the stance with either a fast low or mid since his fastest option out of stance is 15f (+the time it takes to go into stance). With practice i'm pretty sure you can 100% counter stance mixups from neutral.

Does anyone else have trouble getting his sidestep 1+2 to come out? Whenever i do the input during the sidestep i usually get his standing 1+2.

Just practice until you understand the timing, you have to press 1+2 while he is still in sidestep animation and not too late. Thankfully an accidental 1+2 isnt too bad here as its safe on block heat engager.

at 2:22 I've been struggling to get the B2 to land I understand you have to dash but it doesn't hit before he recovers. I tried while in rage and it will hit. Also I noticed the damage was increased while in rage. I understand the combos, but id rather learn them without rage as you start the match without rage. *Disclaimer I am new to Tekken

You can use DF1,2 F As an easymode extension. Keep in mind this guide is meant for 'advanced' players of Tekken (and it was also made day 1) so youll have to trust in a bigger general tutorial for system mechanics and etc.

He is everything in tekken 8 people hate. Ridiculous range, Mishima heatmoves without heat, another stance character, doesn't fit the ascetic, spammy, and has unique magic system. Like people were getting upset at 1 or 2 of these before but this character is so bad. Only thing he doesn't have is normal damage he needs to combo but...its mad easy to combo forever

Bro wtf are you on about. he has 1 stance which is wings of light which only works in combos and if you want to count phoenix shift I guess that’s 2 which you also have an obvious indicator when they’re doing considering he gets covered in flames and that’s about it. What moves are people spamming aswell? The only op move to spam is f1+2 which will most likely be nerfed, b1+2 is punishable on block if they’re spamming in your face. The range he has gets countered by the fact that you can literally punish everything he does besides he’s fff2 which most characters are plus on that move. And I’m still confused with you saying unique magic system, are you playing ff16 Clive while everyone else is playing tekken 8 Clive? Maybe think for yourself, rather than listening to every blatant click bait out there

Zanzetsuken charges. From 2 bars he gets bonus damage after 1+4. With 5 he does a lot of damage and you can't recover health

When you use certain sword attacks the meter charges up. Press 1+4 For a special attack, it gets powered up if you have 3 bars and powered up again if you have 5 bars. Its ok as a combo ender.

It's only charges up when you use the darkblade( Odins sword). Dancing steel and Gungnir for eg. Same like in Ff16. There are some more moves i believe

The Phoenix 3,2 hits kind of weird at the wall, you can use phoenix 3 into the slash followup instead to make it more consistent.

This character is plain stupidity from whoever thought it was a good idea to include him in with all that bullshit. Yes, Yoshimitsu is still acceptable as he doesn't have all the nonsense overpowered magic crap. What the fuck is this turning into Soul Calibur? All the Clives I've faced keep spamming that counter attack where if you try hitting him he teleports, pure stupidity.

Eh, he has a handful of good moves. Which personally I think is balanced well by the fact that almost his entire move list is punishable on block. Rn it seems rough because no one knows the MU, but Clive players in the future are gonna have to be really picky with what they throw out and when. Especially since I anticipate F1+2 getting nerfed (as it should)
