Disappointing to see they've gone electric. At least they've kept the layout, unlike at Reading. I do miss petrol, even though their karts were pretty worn out, the last kart I had there was the slowest thing I'd ever driven. 😂 Plus the weight of the electric really doesn't suit my style it exacerbates the worst elements of my driving. 😬

I was pleasantly surprised when I went on Friday, the electric karts are pretty good, linear power delivery.... About 3 seconds faster than the petrol ones.

@@davemason4257 they changed the layout at Farnborough aswell. It was better before.

Hit a wall with lap times at the minute. Want to be consistently sub 44 but it’s difficult. Can you offer up any advice on some of the corners. On the mezzanine are you braking or lifting accelerator? On the bend adjacent to pit what’s your braking point as I seem to lose momentum here. Where do you find is the best place to boost ?
@bhav_racing744 ай бұрын
Same. I once got consistent 44s in the petrol karts but then they switched to electric and I'm really bad at braking with them. On the mezzanine I used to slightly tap the accelerator to rotate the kart but with the new ones I can't seem to do good. I'm getting 46s now.

I just went 2 hours ago and did a 46.048... Asked the staff for some tips, he said only braking points on the track are the left hairpin at bottom of downhill ramp, and the following left turn hairpin immediately after... I tried this and got 44. 880 in next session!
@nsitv73762 ай бұрын
so using this technique how do you do it. do u just get of the accelarator when you turn?
@kaiserrazzaq68652 ай бұрын
@@nsitv7376 yes, exactly. But I went again in a members session and was trying to follow some very fast guys (42.6 seconds). I asked them what they were doing and they said brake sharp and flick the car to turn it in, but that's a difficult technique to master consistently for an amateur like me. You have to just try what works for you.... But, I would DEFINITELY recommend becoming a member and attending member only sessions. Much better driving standard, less stoppages. Good luck. I managed to get from 44.88 to 43.9 trying to follow these fast guys.
@kaiserrazzaq68652 ай бұрын
@@nsitv7376 Yes. Off throttle or partial throttle, that's what I did. Other faster guys that I was following were braking to flick the car into rotation, but that's a harder technique to get right consistently.

All the karts are probably like that if they are brand new. The tyres need some time to wear in.

I think they’re quicker on the take off, no delay in reaching high speed! I’ve not been able to test my lap times yet really as others drivers have been SHOCKING at my sessions. I drove here on Sunday and someone had to be removed via ambulance during our session so we all got taken off track 🤨

@@Wonkygolfer-7zf mate if you aren’t a member already become one & do members night’s. You dont get no messing around. You get proper racing & no hold up’s. Normal public sessions are a waste of time. People dont pay attention to lights & rules. I agree with you with the pull off but after that they are heavy , slippery , handling is not great & for me no sound on a go kart is a complete mood killer, the sound of the engine roaring is what makes a race track . At least with F1 london they have made the electric karts with simulated race noise coming out of the karts.
