'Worst games ever' says the 18 year old who grew up during the time of modern warfare. This game was ahead of its time when it came out with legs being blown off left right and centre. Loved every minute of it. Golden age of games with the likes of this and the medal of honor series.

It was FAIRLY realistic, especially with the recoil and the prone thing. There's a reason, when I was in the Army, we always used Semi unless we were VERY DESPERATELY needing to obtain fire superiority over the enemy

7:17 Actually realistic! It's not slow, but you see a slowly rotating afterimage of the blades in real life which looks pretty much just like that, allowing for a downgrade between real life and 2004 graphics.

In 03 my reintegration councilor suggested that I play this to help my "mild PTSD" nightmares. I guess it did help reduce them...by replacing them with the same nightmare but in that fu*king game. Some damned how they were even worse.

Are you being serious or just joking? I'm genuinely confused. If by chance it is true, why would a councilor think playing this game would have any positive effect in combating PTSD in any real meaningful way. I can't figure the reasoning behind thinking that a good way to help you mentally cope with you going through horribly traumatic and painful experiences...is to voluntarily playing a (bad) game that similarly re-creates those real-life situations but in a very exploitative and almost trivializing fashion that is made out to be light-hearted entertainment? I can understand trying to integrate video games in some way into the healing process (especially if gaming is already one of your hobbies and passions), as finding anything that you really like and that can help you get away from everything can be a great tool in managing your mental health..But IMO this game in particular just seems like one the worst games for something like that especially for someone who is ex-military dealing with PTSD. But everyone is different and finds enjoyment/entertainment in a different ways, so I guess it all really depends on the person.

Having spoken to many real life army mans I can confirm that this game portrays recoil 100% accurately. When you shoot the gun the barrel gets hot and everyone knows that heat rises so you have to wait until it cools down and floats gently back to where you want to point it.
