I am really enjoying this series. I served in the USAF at RAF Lakenheath in the late 80s into the late 90s. Nice to see the Hog in it natural environment. Now just need some F-111Fs screeming in at 500 ft.

Nice video, clear you put a lot of work into it! Nice to hear you giving thoughts during the engagements. Pretty risky flying this way.

We are enjoying learning how make the Hawg work the way it was intended to. There's always room for one more if you want to drop by the Discord channel and give it a try.

Since I've watched all the videos so far, I've made my own little practice mission to refresh on the A-10A last Friday. It's in the area you described in your videos (I'm also trying to become familiar with the area while I re-learn how to fire mavericks, unguided rockets and rockeyes - I never really forgot how to fire the cannon). You can be certain I'll be checking the Discord to see if you organise events with that kind of mission. That would definitely be something I'd like to participate in.

1. Formation. the element should fly wedge not fighting wing 2. CAS Wheel, dont get into AO as element 3. Use FAC-A 4. Don not fly over enemy 5. preamptive countermeasure and manuer, shackle is useful to gain SA and maintain 6. stay hight or low, do not fly in mid alt (angeles 5 to 15) 7. spot the target, designate, coordinate, communicate and then attack. dont look for TOO within 5 to 7nmi close to target, stay back and behind 8. spread the flight in horizon of battle, try to attack in diffrent breaing

Would doctrine include Apaches in this scenario? Or FAX

As I understand it. The Army Attack Helicopters (AAH's) would have had the primary responsibility of actual CAS of troops in contact. The army preferred the AirForce to be doing Battlefield Interdiction at least 10km from the FEBA - beyond a defined "Fire Support Coordination Line". The commander on the ground could call for air support inside the FSCL, but the jets could engage anything they wanted beyond it at their discretion. The jets and the AAH did practice together, but it seems that was normally reserved for really critical situations.

hey, sidekick. I've been watching the series, but have forgotten what you used as the incitement for invasion. ussr economic collapse, rogue elements in the Kremlin?

All of the above, None of the above, I kind of skirted the issue. I think I made reference to "Red Storm Rising" which paints a picture which is at least plausible.
