Ashamed to say, I have only just seen this. I could feel your disappointment during that last piece. But could also see that your head and heart were singing from the same hymn sheet, thankfully. You knew when enough was enough, and when your safety was in serious danger. So well done, for making that very important exec decision to call it a day. Adventure is one thing, family is another. Only just getting to know you, but you Sir, are a top man for doing what you did. Very much looking forward to watching the rest, and also chewing your ear about this final piece when we have that beer! ;-)

Morocco certainly does look amazing! I saw a bit of it on the trip series from @LaviandOllie They'd be a great couple to get on your podcast actually as they've just returned to the UK from their RTW trip. I've heard you talk about this part of the trip on your podcast loads of times now, but it is another thing seeing the emotion on your face at the time and hearing your voice in the moment. Glad you got to continue the trip not too much later on.

Evening Bruce, wanted to say that I've watched all your videos, and I share the feeling of taking on the open road on an irregular machine. In 2015, I did a simple fourteen day trip through Colorado and other western states on my R6 (4500 miles at age 17). That was pretty wild. 2016 I went to British Columbia and all-around, encompassing a 23 day trip with around 7,100 miles. This year I went to California (from Missouri) and that was around the same length as the Canada one. Mad respect, brother. Although those trips pale little in comparison, it's just cool to watch these videos and see some of the places I've been to as well, such as the US west and I even took the same photos of you while at Salzburg in Austria.

I’ve come to this very late, Having been to Morocco, Mauritania, Nouadibou, Senegal. In some ways I’m surprised you survived on your own. In others surprisingly I would have said Senegal was one of the few bright spots of relative sanity in the area. But it was 40 years ago when I was in there. Serra Leon was interesting, had a slight incident with a camera which turned into a sticky situation. The locals are funny about cameras. But otherwise friendly. The rest of the area was worse. Nigeria terrible, Liberia even worse. I wasn’t alone. Well you made it.

Hi bud . Just came across your channel. Enjoyed it so far . I know how you feel about the police corruption. Danger we get abroad. I was in Bangkok in the summer. The cops stopped us for a routine check and I was charged 1000bht . They split it between them and put it straight into they're pocket.. and that night wanted to get a beer only to find that the reception didn't want me to go out on my own.. to dangerous they said.. lot's of gang's. And they said I could have all the free beer I wanted in the hotel.. not the same thought 😂😂😂. Keep up the good work 👌👍👍

I think it was extremely braves to give up at that time. The pressure from all at home must have been playing on your mind heavily, your thoughts of letting people down. I can say that they would have been much more let down if something terrible had happened to you because you hadn't realised that enough was enough. I take my hat off to you.

Believe it or not, I’ve heard of people who have done that. They’ve taken their bike apart and shipped it in several suitcases, it works out cheaper in some cases! I flew mine back from Dakar to London.

Thanks for the reply! Stellar effort, I'm watching all your vids now in order and really enjoying them. I see now why they shifted the Dakar Rally to South America. It sounded brutal. I guess everyone says "I'd love to do this", but living in Australia, it's got to be jumping in the deep end, as I'm on an island and there's no ferry to anywhere. So I have to fly the bike as the first step. Somewhat daunting. Your videos really help. I feel I need to see the hard stuff as well as the 'everything is fantastic' facebook posts that don't reflect reality.

Aye, just because you’re riding around the world, it’s no different to any other day of life really - some days are good, some aren’t. In fact it’s more like some hours are amazing, some are horrendous! But you’re still riding around the world, which is just plain awesome! Do it 😉👍

I’m loving this series, but it’s painful seeing your hard time at the end of the video. I don’t want to sound like an arse know it all, but I really think you had such a hard time at the border because you stand out so much, and that bike and all the advertising scream TARGET. The border police in these countries pay huge bribes to get into that job, they borrow money from family to buy the position, so that they can recoup the investment from taking money from targets and you come along like manna from heaven. I’ve been there, believe me. I’ve found it remarkably easier at these borders if you arrive at 6am and try not to stand out too much, and (I know this useless Info to you) be on a small regular bike. Any display of wealth, and believe me you look like a million dollars in that outfit, on that bike and with those stickers, is a liability. It should t be that way, of course, but that isn’t Kansas Dorothy
