Some people think all washers are designed equally. As we can see here in this demonstration, many consumer household washers are designed to fail within less than 5 years. Speed Queen washers are designed to last longer, and are easier to repair.

The company I work for has commercial SQ models. The commercial Speed queen is completely different. Different transmission, different motor, belt and pump set up. I find it crazy that a Commercial and residential speed queen can be so different. It may be different but it is actually very simple to work on. And can last a long time. I could build a speed queen commercial washer in my sleep.

Yes! They are very different as the machines are intended to be used in different manners, for different sized items (say king sized comforters for example), and will perform a little differently. With that, the internal components would also need to be different to support this. 😄

If there's a belt between the motor and transmission assembly then it isn't direct drive. The old, true direct drive washers are built much like the TC5 but with even fewer parts and far less cost to buy parts and service.

I'd stick with the heavy duty cycle. I can use softener in a Speed Queen on heavy duty.

@@jeromedavis8575 You should be able to use fabric softener on any cycle! If using fabric softener in combination with the Normal/Eco cycle, just add the Extra Rinse option to ensure its all rinsed/washed out of fabrics and the tub. 😁

Speed queen hands down, if you really want a real man's washing machine and it to truly last there's no question about it, speed queen is the true answer, I'm about to take out a loan and buy a TR7 and a front load model and I'm thinking about a DR7 dryer but still debating

Thanks for this feedback 😁While we don't currently have anything planned to increase our tub size, they are comparable to other 4.5 cu.ft. HE washers since we utilize the entire tub by filling with more water! Either way, I'll let our team know what you're looking for from us in the future!
