I learnt a vital lesson here, and avoided a mess. Keep the whole motor upright so as not to have oil all over your work bench when removing the cylinder head (at 17.34 mins to 17.55). Do this by wrapping the motor in a big old work sheet, (Swiss roll style) enough to give it a tight fit then place it in a plastic builders (12 ltr) bucket. Now you have two hands free to work more efficiently. Do the same when replacing with new oil.

I wish I would have seen this video sooner.... today I've made the same mistake and the oil spilled out of gearbox... I was attempting to find out from where I have a a quite massive water leakage when pump is running. Lesson learned...

Most time that valve system on the bottom. Cracks. Either the water hose connection or the outlet hose. Each time we jam in the hose the plastic moves and that probably cause it to crack over time. Second it's hard plastic and plastic degrades over time. That's my guess. I've seen other repair videos of this model, the crack happens more on certain K2 models then the other. There are 2 different valve systems I believe. I saw a video about that, they showed which model tends to crack more easily then the other

No, I researched the cost of new parts - forget it. So I waited to see if any other broken units became available - no. So in the end I gave up and bought an Also one.

Very informative video. Thank you. A question if you do't mind: What is the purpose of the ventillated wheel on the front? And can the machine do it's job without the yellow cover? I mean just in the white cover.
@RomboutVersluijs2 жыл бұрын
If I'm correct it's for circulation of air. This engine is air-cooled since it quite boxes in. Better have something to get cooler air in

Every screw that secures the outer and inner covers is the same but you used three different types of driver to undo them you will also find that the wheels come off easily so the screws under them are more accessible

You pull the cylinder head off. It’s just a rubber seal holding it in. Just watch the valves don’t spring out as they are on springs.

@duncanhowarth95145 жыл бұрын
I'm sure, if you'd tried and set your heart to it, you could have cluttered your workbench with even more items. Next time try coiling the power cable and pressure hose and putting together with everything else on there. If nothing else it will certainly add to an even more cluttered and confusing video.
@SheerInstinct3 жыл бұрын
There's no issue. If you couldn't keep track of what was happening here then you are not what one would call a "competent person" for the job. Stay away from DIY and either buy new or send to the repair shop as you would probably somehow start a fire even with the machine being unplugged.
