Teardown of a Pressure Washer Pump

I used this pump to replace the pump on a Ecell 3100 PSI pump. kzbin.infoUgkxEU8wdEWW31diRsOawsCNfWEho39M27qd The model # is PWZ0163100.02 for those looking for a matching pump. It went on very easily - 10 minutes at most. Feels like a lot more power than the original but that's to be expected. Can't tell a difference when cleaning with the wand or floor sprayer. Would recommend as it was cheaper than most I found. The maintenance free aspect is definitely a plus too. Have used it through about 6 tanks of gas and have zero issues so far.

I have been looking for information on how to disassemble my AAA pump to check the connecting rods that are a bit heavy or stuck when moving the shaft. Thanks for this video, now I will disassemble it to see what is causing this heavy friction of the connecting rod and its shaft, because everything apparently looks fine.

Great video, Tom. Just one thing to add, for a full teardown there are a few more seals inside the inlet manifold that require a slide hammer to remove/replace. Excellent stuff though!!

Hi there, I’m buying Karcher HD 5/17 which I believe has a brass pump. I’m a bit worried about the instructions what to do before storing it: “Finishing operation 1. Close the water inlet. 2. Open the high-pressure gun. 3. Set the power switch to "I/ON" and allow the device to run for 5-10 seconds.”

I just replaced my old AAA pump with a new one. Can't wait to take apart my old one and replace the O-rings, clean and lubricate the valves. At the price of these, if I can get another couple of years use out of it, that's a win for me.

You need pressure relief cap on pump, looks like bolt installed instead

I just bought new seals for the pump part, but after pulling the unit off the motor and draining the oil I can hear something rattling around inside like a piston is broken. I spent $240 on new seals to change them out, but its more than likely a piston which would be cheaper to just replace the whole damned pump. $400 for a new pump for the Easy Kleen 4000 magnum pressure washer. ARGH!!

Yes, thank you for a helpful video. I wonder if you have any suggestions for my particular situation. I have a smaller pressure pump that unfortunately has build up scale and corrosion internally, following disassembly. I have brushed as much as possible to remove the build up but cannot reach the deep internal passages so I would like to soak the pump head in a suitable cleaning solution. I have learned that products like C-L-R are damaging to brass metal, which my pump is constructed with. Do you have a suggestion of a cleaning solution for this type of pump? Thanks for your help.
