HighMAT is a media format that was developed by Panasonic and Microsoft for CD authoring with music/video content in the Windows XP days. The HighMAT switch is probably for CDs with the HighMAT format.

I have the Panasonic SL-CT800 and I think it's still working.

Sony had a thinner CD player 2 or 3 years earlier. The D-EJ1000 is 13.9mm thick, the Panasonic one here is 14.4mm. 😉 When it comes to rechargeable batteries, there is no special magic here. These are ordinary gumsticks batteries used in many different portable devices.

Wow makes me wonder what's inside my Panasonic SL-NP500. One of the few things I noticed was the difference in overall clarity with newer players. While the shock protection and battery life went up dramatically over time, the sound quality took a turn for the worse. I mean overall filtering improvements were few and far between in the 90's but the way the highs,mids and lows were presented really took a dip. As is manufactures started to favor bass heavy tones instead of a clearer more balanced audio signature. It was for this reason that I never gave up on the older tech since I knew Panasonic and probably other manufacturers took great care in designing and engineering their audio amps and accompanyed circuitry.

i made a modding to my ct810 I replaced the output coupling capacitors the original value was 150uf I replaced it with 220uf(C706 C705) for more bass like sony I also stacked a pair of 10nf capacitors on R708 R 707 to trim a little bit trable. you can search the service manual for it. so what i did was making ct810 sounds as bassy as sony cd players
@sethcaine36598 жыл бұрын
did you put it back together successfully and did it work? also.. you said that you hear a lower quality encoded reproduction of the cd? so is the sound quality low? how does it compare to say the sl-860 interesting vid, thanks!

I have a sl-ct700 and had an sl-ct810 in the past and sold it.. I thought the 700 sounded better tbh, although ti might've had the same anti-skip technology

If that perfectly good CD player has been ruined by this Tear Down; it's a crying shame! It could have been donated to someone less-well-off.
@forrestcowcat3 жыл бұрын
hey i have the service manual for it. you want a copy? also replacing the coupling capacitors between amp chip and earphone jack with 6v 220uf, then the bass sounds like sony models.

Did you put it back together and make it work again?🤪

mine has recently developed a fault. when you press play the green lights come on under the play and stop buttons, and then it changes to the led pattern like when it's charging, and after a few seconds it stops. the cd never plays and the motor does not function. I scoured the net and bought 4x replacement batteries, and still no joy. works perfectly when connected to the mains. anyone have any ideas?

That is not the thinnest CD player . Sony DE-EJ 995 and 1000 are the thinnest. Edit : the Sony I mentioned are even older .

In 2004, the thinnest portable CD player was the Sony D-NE20, with a thinkness of 13.1mm.

I remember Sony making a thinner one that was almost as thin as 3 or 4 disk stacked.
@jeremifrancisco14 жыл бұрын
Do you remember the number model of it?
@snyggmikael4 жыл бұрын
@@jeremifrancisco1 D-NE20, however I remember it with a bit of over exaggeration. It was 1.3 cm in thickness and was released 2005. Hm... or perhaps I was right, 4 disks is probably something like that no? xD .. oh well pretty thin either way hehe
