This channel should have at least a million views and subscribers. The amount of effort this guy puts in to make the cover as close to original as possible is insane.

No doubt the KZbin algorithm working it's magic. Keeping views away from an unbelievably talented musician and singer and sending people to the music company's videos.

The algorithm delivers, eventually. Can't believe I'm just seeing this now. The key to this song is all the synth work and sequencing combined with all the great syncopated guitar licks. It's a simple song to sing along with, but incredibly difficult once you see all its moving parts. This one has like 95% of them. It's really, really impressive. I would kick the Korg keyboard solo up in the mix a bit and same with the crunchy lead guitar for the last bits, but that's it. Really nice work.

"Shout", "Head Over Heals", and "Woman in Chains", also by Tears for Fears, along with "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" are, in my opinion, some of the finest most decade-defining songs of the legendary 1980's.

Loving your channel, Clement! I too, had a great time breaking down these songs and trying reproduce them accurately. You've done an amazing job with this one! Lots of subtle nuisances. One thing though (and I think you'll smile when you hear it) at 3:32 with the lyric "Everybody wants to rule the world" Ian Stanley plays that same line on the synth (either a Fairchild, DX-7 or a Prophet T-8...hard to tell) I think it's a neat touch and something that I didn't notice for many, many years. It's the only time that it's done in the song and very subtle. Go back and give it a listen! Looking forward to hearing more from you!

The solo is where he proves he's an awesome musician. Technically anyone can program a cover, but playing it is altogether a different story. This song is not complicated at all on keyboards, but Roland's solo shines
@matthewcragg36072 жыл бұрын
True…that's what I thought too. All this work is amazing, the tones are extremely close if not spot on, the vocals are really good, but the guitar work is 80's era professional grade playing.
