Been a long time since I've heard this. So Beatles like. "I Am The Walrus" comes to mind.

Absolutely intended to be "Beatles like" even down to the trumpet from Penny Lane, and visually on the album cover.

More Tears for Fears? Yes, please! Please do the song "The Year of the Knife"!! It's a song on side 2 of the Sowing the Seeds of Love album, from 1989! You will love it!

this song was meant to be an homage to the Beatles & the flower power generation... there's many pastiches on Beatles' songs and studio techniques and life philosophy... - rhythm and singing: 'I'm the Walrus' - Bach trumpets in the middle part: 'Penny Lane' - drums recorded in-reverse: was a Beatles invention - there are whiffs of 'Hey Jude' in the overall atmosphere - title: 'All you need is love' and general hippy philosophy - cover varied and colourful: reminds of covers 'St.Pepper' and 'Magical Mystery Tour'; details: sun - 'Here comes the Sun'; flowers: hippy culture of wearing them in the hair ...I'm sure there's plenty more hidden in it... 🌻💖🥀

Woman in chains is ace, best song they ever did in my opinion, however this is a good song, a shameless Beatles rip and the band admit it as the fab 4 were one of their major influences, love their honesty, love tears for fears ❤

Being a tad older when TFF hit the scene, I never gave them much respect...until I heard this song. Oh my! Not only are they extraordinarily talented, but they could also pay extreme tribute to their heroes, in this case The Beatles. This song remains on my road trip playlist some 30 years later...yeah, it's that good.

Nice review. You should listen to the song that precedes it on the album, it's called Badman's Song and is a musical journey through all sorts of styles including gospel, it's a bit long coming in at over 8 minutes, but well worth it, Tears For Fears take the listener to church on Badman's Song.
