There is no doubt Tears for fears were a successful band/duet, but I think they were not appreciated enough back then or even now as the brilliant songwriters and musicians that they are. I would have loved it if Tears for fears and Talk Talk were in the same band together in the 80s. Combining they songwriting and performing talents into one band. I think Roland ozabal and Mark Hollis are similar in there writing style.

Roland 🤩, sin ninguna duda su identidad, tipo vocal es inconfundible, un verdadero regalo de Dios, es extraordinaria, como se ve claramente en el video tiene alcances de barítono y sus agudos tienen una densidad más lírica y por eso no suena irritante, o sea, tiene los elementos claves para un timbre vocal admirable y cautivante. Esta canción en particular me eriza los pelos y me emociona profundamente. La forma que TFF mezclan todos los diferentes instrumentos... pocas , muy pocas bandas han sido capaces de hacer eso . Son obras primas de la música. TFF fue, es y siempre será una de las mejores bandas del mundo. Roland y Curt siempre mostraron ser personas sencillas, que no tienen complejos de ego. no les agrada ser el centro de las atenciones y se enfocan en su oficio, en su talento. Una gran, pero gran suerte fue la de Caroline(primera esposa de Roland) haber podido, por tantos años, convivir y compartir tantas cosas con este ser tan especial, lástima que en los 10 últimos años, antes de su muerte(2017), ella ´”se ahogó hasta la muerte” literalmente, a raíz de su adicción al alcohol. This sounds exactly like the album version, not like an unpolished live performance. What is strange is the fade out at the end, which would be very difficult to do live. I wonder if the album version was dubbed over the live track for this video...

After rewatching this I stand corrected. You see the saxophone player do nothing while there is a sax audible during the second verse and chorus. And how they did it, we'll never know, but tv-performances have a history of being played back. As to the speed, it sounds slightly sped up compared to the album version, although that could be an auditory illusion because it leaves out the slow buildup and goes right into the action. So therefor, my bad. I apologize.

@@spot007 Roland and Curts instruments aren't plugged in, neither is the Ian's synth, and the drums are nearly entirely wrong for what they should be using. I think Roland programmed the drums for the song in any case. I don't think it was dubbed, I think they were lip-syncing it live.
