A moving piece of art. That's all I can really come up with. The video paired with the song is just shattering. Roland's vocals were so good and pair it with Oleta's vocals too and it's just magic. I heard the instrumental version of this last year and everybody said GO LISTEN TO THE STUDIO TRACK... and here I am. What should I check out next by Tears for Fears?

Ooh, so many, Lee. I would suggest Swords and Knives from this album. It’s a ❤ sonic treat. This band can do no wrong, really. I would also suggest Mother’s Talk/Broken/Head Over Heels live from Songs from the Big Chair. They totally excel live, and Curt is such an underrated bass player 😊 You have done some of The Hurting, but Ideas as Opiates is a must, too.

One of the best songs of all time, this song is considered by alot of music producers the greatest mixed song of all time and is used for sampling by alot of music engineers, the vocals the instruments and mixing of different instruments and layering is unreal and is something most bands/groups wish they could achieve. I love playing this song on my keyboard and honestly has been my most played track by them in catalog of great songs that's pretty astonishing!

It's bizarre how no one is able to write, play and produce a song like this these days. The pinnacle has been reached a long long time ago. Not just an old fart talking here, it's a fact unfortunately.

What a great tune on so many levels. Beautiful. A complicated subject handled with nuance. Abuse is all about the abuser's insecurities.....hurting someone he 'loves' to maintain control. Then they show his tenderness toward his pigeons (who won't hurt him), interesting facet. Humans are complicated; as are the reasons for the pain they inflict. No excuse for such behavior, however. Maybe Phil's schedule didn't allow him to film the video (he was very busy then). But he must have been quite taken with Oleta because he asked her to sing with his Big Band while touring in 1998.

Woman In Chains is probably their masterpiece, the entire Seeds of Love album is a masterpiece and much better than the critically acclaimed Songs From The Big Chair. The song means a lot to me because I come from a broken home, I witnessed my father abusing my mother on many occasions. My father eventually left my mother on her own to bring up me and my 3 younger sisters. I'm 66 now, my father died in 2014, but in the 40 something years since he left, I had no contact with him. When he left us he moved to a different part of the country, we lived in the north of England, he moved to the south coast. My sisters couldn't really remember him, but I could, he wasn't a good man, they all went to visit him in his last days, but I declined his invitation, I had no intention of going nearly 400 miles to make him feel better about himself.

I enjoyed your reaction Lee. This is a powerful song. There are a lot of TFF songs you could react to. This is probably the most emotive. It would be great if you reacted to Goodnight Song by TFF. The video features David Bowie's former bass guitar player Gail Ann Dorsey. This may not be the most requested TFF song, but I guarantee you won't be disappointed with it.

Did anyone notice how much the man was hurting too? Men are trapped in their traditional roles too sometimes and feel they can’t show weakness or vulnerability. And so they react with anger. I’m NOT NOT NOT condoning abuse. Just saying there was allot of focus on the man and how he was obviously struggling with his own demons

Interesting video...She's an erotic dancer and he's a boxer/old school guy... I guess the premise is he supposedly accepted who she was when they got together but now he can't handle it....they seem to love each other but....life is complicated....Yeah that's just some dude pretending to be Phil Collins....they even set his kit up left handed for the video...
