what is real meaning of chod ?
@TearsofBodhisattva3 жыл бұрын
Chöd is a Tibetan term meaning Cutting, cutting of ego-clinging. It is a meditative ritual based on the transcendental wisdom (Prajñāpāramitā). The Chöd practitioners visualise offering their bodies in a feast as a test of understanding the emptiness nature of reality.

Real meaning of chod is transforming dualistic nature into emptiness or treating others more important than yourself, so much so that you are ready offer your body to buddha, yidam and the hungry spirits as wisdom offering to Buddhas and as real food to the spirits and offering of wishfullfiling things, whatever one wishes. It is the practice of ultimate compassion or Boddichitta and no ego at all. Also, waking oneself out of stupor or ordinariness with taking very different of action nothing ordinary here. Also cutting out fear, meaning you are ready to go to cemetary and perform chod by yourself at night having no fear but only compassion, not getting scared of self as there is no real self.
