Words cannot describe how much I love IU. She's so authentic and raw when it comes to her music and her sound is unique to her and her style of music. Too many groups these days cater to what's considered popular and completely disregard the idea of originality when it comes to their work and their music. So I definitely know why Korean ppl don't like "idol". I hate what we call "fandom power", that kills alot of talent. Of course they sells that much for album. But for artists, they're recognized by "public" who listen to good music and for public, they don't buy physical albums. Physical sales make alot money but I think digital is the prior factor to determines "winner". Noone can beat IU for that.

Yeah. The award "artist of the year" is just another popularity contest. Obviously, the groups with the biggest fandom would win. Sure, for groups like BTS for example, it means that they made it, good for them. But I could name more than 30 Korean solo artists that deserve to hold that title. Yet most of them never do. Which is why, it would be nice to win, though I don't care much about those awards anymore.

Ms IU never fail to amaze us, another astonishing art, She will always be my favorite soloist in kpop industry, she's not just a singer or vocalist. She's an artist and a musician. I've seen people who put her down because of mere jealousy, those who don't believe she's equally as talented/skilled as to how popular she is, and others that still couldn't move on from her past stupid controversies.
