Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson series was a masterpiece, along with the Heroes of Olympus series. I grew up reading those books throughout elementary and high school. Now I am graduated from college, thank you Rick for giving me an amazing reading experience in my youth 🤲🏽

What I think is going to really make this series different is the age appropriate casting. Even when I read the books as a pre-teen it didn’t dawn on me about how young they were, because, well, they were my age! Now that I’m an adult it’s crazy to see how much the characters will have to go through at such young ages. I think the cast has been set perfectly and with Rick Riordan being one of the directors on set, this series will be amazing to watch.

@@delilahramirez6267 In the actual books, Rick Riordan wrote about how Thalia had green eyes. But then a few chapters later they were described as blue. He himself has admitted to this and has said it’s because it wasn’t something that was extremely important. I for one don’t care as much as what the actors look like but just that the TV show actually follows the books a bit. I wasn’t ever mad at the movies because they forgot to make Annabeth blonde, it was that they casted mid 20s actors to play 12 year olds and then even that might not have been that bad had they actually followed the storyline. I trust Riordan, the author of the books that it will be good especially since he has testified that it will be good.

It's important to note that this show is just an adaptation of the books. While I hope things do remain similar to the books I am willing to let some things stray from the continuity such as character appearances. When i was 11 years old i was going through a very tough time, i was getting bullied at school and my relationship with my mother was crumbling apart. I had a book series on my shelf that i decided i was going to finally read. I owe so much to Percy Jackson and Rick Riordan because without this series i dont think i would still be here today at 16. @@orphanedhanyou that's your opinion, I guess. But 17-18 is still far too old to play Percy in The Lightning Thief. Percy is supposed to be 12, and the great prophecy happens when he's 16. Walker (the actor playing him) is 13. And honestly, I'd say he'll be a pretty good Percy. Logan could definitely play a good older Percy. But not through the PJO series. He was too old for that role, especially considering Percy hitting 16 is a huge deal in the story/prophecy.

When the Lightning Thief book first released I was eleven years old, in the middle of my Greek Mythology phase, and starting to get into reading longer books for fun. I saw this thing on the shelf and was like “this book is MADE for me” and I LOVED it. Even now as a 28 year old high school English teacher, if I had to list five books/series that have a piece of my fiction-loving heart, Percy Jackson and the Olympians is definitely on that list and I’m so excited to see it get the screen treatment it deserves. But you know what you are right in the end he's the author. An art is never meant to be copied again and again. Few changes should hardly affect me. That rush of childhood wonder I got when I first read the lightning thief is back, and it’s absolutely amazing. The amount of work that’s being put into this by the people in front of, and behind the camera is incredible, props to all of them for their dedication and hard work. Can’t wait to see this, whenever it gets released!

My dad and I read these books at the same time when I was in middle school, we loved it! So obviously we went to the theater to see the film adaptation when it premiered... and walked out about halfway through. Never something we do!! But we were so in love with Rick's story and his characters that the movie was just that bad. This is the adaptation this incredible series deserves!!!

Did i cry? Yes. 13year old me, who had just finished the entire Percy Jackson series, which led me to study Greek mythology in depth and reading other Rick Riordan series, would be soo happy thanks to the efforts that are being taken to bring the series live! Gods i hope they don't change it much😩 This series is my comfort zone and Im absolutely thrilled to see the live action♥️

Reading Percy Jackson as a kid really got me to love reading and getting into the fantasy genre. Rick Riordan literally started my love for books. Now that there's a Tv show coming, its like my childhood all over again. Can't wait for this series to come out!

@@ididntmeantoshootthatvietn5012 if the shows good ill give credit where credit is due towards the director script writers actors & everyone else that contributed towards it being good, but youll never catch me praising disney plus themselves. like with marvel disney+ shows, i support the people that made loki but will gladly make fun of she-hulk and it's unhinged writers director & lead actress (CGI could be much better, couldve been done like gamora, but the CGI people are probably overworked and unmotivated given the material theyre working with)

I love to read. However, when I was in 6th grade I stopped doing it so often because I went back to public school I randomly found all of the Rick Riordan series in my local library one day after a long week and I read every single one in every series by the end of that month. To say I was obsessed is an understatement. Seeing this amazing story finally get the representation it deserves is honestly incredible. Also, I love how the narration in this trailer mirrors the opening lines of lightning thief. Those were the sentences that started it all.
