Right!? I worked for a company that laid off 50% of the company 2 months after the vid outbreak. They got the employees they were letting go of on a zoom call to let them know they were being leg go of and asked them to log off and pack up their work equipment after the call. That the shipping label had already be sent to them for the return of company property. I was pregnant and sick to my stomach. I was not let go but I felt horrible. Some of my peers who were good workers, single moms, left without a job just like that. I left as soon as I could. Requested vacation. Once approved. I put in my two weeks lol. They were so blindsided. They really asked if I could reschedule my vacation and I said, "oh no. I wont be doing that." They were shocked and didn't press further. Awful company

Instead of Morphe creating their own fans through product improvements and formulation advancements, it relied on someone else's fanbase to lift them. They sabotaged their longevity. Even though MAC makeup is no longer trending, people out of the loop will still buy MAC as a safe go-to. For people out of the loop of Make up/beauty influencers products, they’re more likely to turn towards known, established brands like MAC, L’Oréal, Shishedo etc. I would be less likely to trust or try Jacqueline cosmetics, Painted by James Charles or anything else. I think the only ones I would try would be Rare or Fenty that too because it’s a celebrity endorser along with the rave reviews. For the loyal ones, obviously they’ve found the products that work for them and don’t want to try anything new.

I’ve worked in the makeup and skincare industry, specifically the time where influencer marketing was massive. Morphe was never good aside from the Ariel set. When I buy makeup I buy Chanel, Nars, MAC. Yes these brands have become less popular but they still for the most part understand professional quality for everyday wear, as well as color theory.

They're just morphe branded, and they're some of the best eyeshadow I own and that's compared to the more expensive products I have, and I still use my brush set every day and it's still perfect. I've been an esthetician and makeup artist for a little over 20 years and honestly these quote-unquote influencers, they really need to stop putting that damn eyedropper all over their face and then put it back in the bottle. That is not what it is used for or its intended purpose 🙄 just like serums, there is an eyedropper for a reason. But they all seem to be out here wiping that applicator all over their face and then when they put it back in the bottle, they're not realizing that they're putting bacteria into their foundations and or serums or even moisturizers by doing that. At this point, customers turn towards influencers (KZbin, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) to see if it is worth spending X-amount of dollars, whether it is a whole collection or just a single product. These companies rely on these services, however, if an influencer does find themselves in trouble (high or low) Forma better get in gear and make sure they do what they need to do rather than sticking around (like with Jeffree and James) and trying to get their products out. This is all sad cause I genuinely like Morphe's regular products. I've only really used their eyeshadow palettes but the pigment payoff from some of the more vivid colors is great. I hate what they did to their employees but if they're under a new parent company and vowing to do better I might keep an eye out on their palettes.

Honestlty I havent bought from morphe way before they even closed their physical stores, I just got into it cuz at the time I followed people like Manny, Jeffree, etc. The products are very basic looking back now lol

I'm confused as to how anyone can look at Meredith Duxbury and want to view her as a cosmetics role model. She put a tablespoon of foundation 3 shades too light then topped it with a gob of bronzer to warm it up. Why? Why would someone who is what, 23, need to put all that on her skin? And then proceed to rub it in like it's moisturizer??? She's going to create so many skin issues in the next few years with the way she treats her face.

Morphe should've stuck with professional makeup artists on KZbin. Just because you collect makeup obsessively and can do a decent winged liner doesn't mean you're a makeup artist. There is a vast difference. Artists have honed their craft, went to school, done makeup on the side, and CONTINUED to learn the craft. Like doctors. That's probably why I only ever subscribed to 2 or 3 makeup 'gurus' because some of their 'love' towards makeup just seemed like a hoarding obsession. Stick to real makeup artists, Morphe. Or hell, create your own avenue. People don't put as much faith in influencers anymore because they're known to lie. And their shady personal life can really hurt companies. 🤷‍♀️
