I think a lot of influencers heavily underestimate how much work having a makeup brand is, I think a lot of them start it then realize how much work it is and then just push it onto other people. Which is probs where the problems come.

patrick was sincere and took responsibility, gisou took their demographic into account to let them know “hey! we’re sorry that this is happening, this is what we’re changing, and thank you for bringing it to our attention!”, and veronavanity sticking up for herself against such a huge creator buying a knockoff product is just incredible to me. hearing that people are taking accountability (in patrick and gisou case) and sticking up for their work (veronavanity) is just so nice to hear after all of these excuses we’ve gotten time and time again. thanks for this video, you did an awesome job covering these topic and creators.

I think you’re noticing a sampling bias problem not an influencer problem. People that consume influencers content know they have platforms that’s often why they support the brand so anytime something big happens you’re talking about a niche that are going to be more likely to post it whereas for smaller brands they don’t sell as much so there aren’t as many reviews out there positive or negative. Not anything to do with differing quality of brands just a cognitive bias we all have.

Patrick is an excellent example of what an influencer is. He literally apologized sincerely, refunded people who had a defective batch, and fixed the issue. Looking at the ingredients, it seems that either they didn't react well to one another or it could be due to the temperature shifts. Usually when aerosol products do this, its something that's caused by the environment

My theory on this: Everytime a handful of new beauty launched products go bad, i think defected ones are put in there for a reason. So ppl can share negative videos n it brings more attention to the product, capatalizing on negative publicity. An influencer makes apology video gains millions of wows of their fans when in reality they the ones who orcherasted themselves. Thats the fastest way of selling ur products

It seems like Patrick’s consumer side kicked in and was like would you be happy with a product like that? Also we do have to keep in mind to things like that happen even to brands that aren’t makeup.

Patrick handled the Setting Spray issue so well! Others should be as transparent as Patrick! The Giosu lip oil was fine for me BUT my applicator started shedding and I returned it. It does have a little olive oil smell which didn’t bother me but the shedding was a problem for me.

Sometimes some things go wrong, from working in several factories of different industries I know how easy it is for batch issues to happen. Unless your production is 100% automated, and even then really, mistakes happen. It's how the companies deal with those issues with the consumer that make or break them.

the fake snow in a bottle. on til dawn is so popular people are constantly coming in sephora it purchase the setting spray. even if you dont get a fake snow bottle it still feels like hairspray on your face. i really hope the issues get resolved.
