My hairdresser did this to me today so I just looked up why she would do it that way, as I have never had someone do that to me before. The result in your video looks great, but from my experience with my extremely long hair past my waist, this caused soo many knots and lots of excruciating pain from brushing out the knots. Perhaps this technique is only suitable for short to mid-length hair.

I should have been a stylist. I get this. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get even decent highlights in the past 15 years. They don't do a good job teaching in school or too many people that don't have any talent in learning how to do or follow updates to extend their knowledge.
