I don’t care what anyone says the most loving half time show . Beyoncé as fierce as ever , Bruno so smooth but it’s coldplay with the spirit and the heart of it all as usual ❤️

I think that part was for Bruno, for his song Just the way you are. At that part Chris was singing parts of songs from artists who performed at the Super Bowl Before. When he sings the part and their image shows the light up stage. “It’s a beautiful day” -U2 “purple rain purple rain” -prince “All the women independent” -Beyoncé “I think your amazing just the way” -Bruno

This show was a MOMENT. Bruno kicked ass, and Beyonce brought the fire, starting the whole “omg were costumes a throwback to the black panthers”? Controversy (which was stupid- who cares?) She. Was. Awesome.

Yea she actually did it because it was the 50th anniversary of the black panther organization. The backlash she got was crazy. Police boycotted her tour and she was banned from several radio stations

The stage graphics was pretty much a trend that Beyonce had with her WHO RUNS THE WORLD premiere on an award show some years before. She carried it into her 2013 halftime superbowl performance. Lots of other artists/ entertainment shows caught onto this and it became a staple. Her graphics team created a pop culture art. Smart guys. There are some behind the sceen footage of her learning the set up to introduce these graphics for her Run the world performance. The jacket she is wearing is in tribute to one of her idols MJ. It's similar to his from his superbowl performance. There were "conservative" people having a controversial outrage because she wore what looked like to them war gear with black panther back up dancers. Beyonce pointed out that not so many miles away from the stadium there was another 50th anniversary on the same day as the superbowl, the o.g. black panther party. She was paying homage to those who helped keep away injustice and harm to minorities of their era. She release FORMATION on streaming services the day before the superbowl so that her fans could know the song before she premiered it on the Superbowl. I went in when she came on. YOU HEAR ME?! Went hard because she brought it hard, with the representation. The superbowl was in February, which is black history month. It was also a very racially controversial time because of Collin Kaepernick and what he was doing with the kneeling during the national anthem. So called patriotic people attacked him and anyone who dared back him up for trying to bring awareness to the systemic injustice and police brutality. Beyonce did this performance with grace and dignity, yet they still venomously attacked her on social media and the such. Beyonce and her family are close friends with Chris Martin and then wife Gwyneth Paltrow. They would vacation together and have kiddie play dates and the such. I think it was fitting that Chris included the last two brilliant acts that performed before him. I was jumping around and singing while Coldplay performed. Their songs get me in a mood that just puts me in a happy place. It was such a beautiful halftime with the tribute to performers past, the message of unity being relayed and the extra guests he invited.
