Marvelous reconstructions however what we don't know is how these places were furnished, They always seem so empty which would have hardly been the case. I see rich carpets and drapes and polished timber furniture in abundance.

adrian wasnt the only one nostalgic , his villa is a copy of an archaic gym located near the baths of arapissa, the gym was surrounded by a circular ditch with water has 60 meters diameters and was excavated by the british archaeologists . the gym was made to commemorate a great minian ( 2700bc-1400bc ) city build near pellana sparta , lakedaemon ( long before the area got flooded and covered in mud and earth ) . the area before the flood had both artificial and man made islands (like messara crete , tititaka etc ) asia and lybia were 2 of the names of the islands , plus much more suggest that lakedaemon was atlandis

the monument built by the spartans at amykles , the amyklaeon , was a worshiping place for a ... 16 meter column covered with gold with the head of apollo on top ,pausanians says this is one of the two columns of lakedaemon , also mentioned by herodotus , everything and more is written

the gym (at platanistas iamatic baths of arapissa ) is mentioned by pausanias sorry the gym had 70 meters diameter herodus of attica also built his villa at marathon and athens to the 'plan' of lakedaemon , every body knows the minians ( falsely called mycenaeans ) had circular buildings

When I watch these programs I can't help but feel sad for the wonderful culture that has been lost to mankind if only they would have acted more cautiously, and it was all thrown away basically because they couldn't settle on a logical means to pass on the leadership, the lives and treasure wasted fighting Roman against Roman they should have been untouchable. Had a way been found the world would now be a thousand years more advanced! Just think about it, Europe would have been one country, WW1 & WW2 need not have happened and we probably would now have colonies on the moon.
