I use pour-over daily at home, but you talked me into cowboy coffee a while back, and it is BY FAR my favorite way to make coffee outdoors. Sooo much easier, lighter, and hassle-free. (Maybe uses a few grams more fuel).

I’ve two those filters. 1€ each. I bring them with me while backpacking bikepacking and traveling, yeah. It really does make a good cup of coffee. Need a tall cup so there’s space for enough coffee to drip down. I use a single walled cup, and made a cosy for it myself. Works brilliantly if I may say so. Insulated cup on a budget.

If you wanna go this route just take the Cafflano Classic - the same thing but has a mini grinder as well, now you have a Cup, Filter and grinder so you can use fresh beans. I either travel with that or my PAKT coffee system

I am a severe coffee junkie and I think that is a pretty slick little product. I have a Stanly travel mug/coffee press and it makes a real good cup of coffee and keeps it hot for a really long time, like no kidding 9 hours. But I'm always in the market for something new. Dwayne

My friend and I like to hike to a place called Lake Natoma in Northern California and make coffee on the trail. We bring our backpacking chairs and sit in one of our favorite spots for about an hour talking and observing nature which consists of bald eagles, river otters, dear, coyotes, bobcats and various other wildlife. It is very restful. I normally make 16 oz of coffee with various coffee making gadgets that I have and my friend uses his Jetboil java press to make expresso type coffee because he grew up in Spain and likes that style of coffee. We are not concerned with weight or bulk because we have large day packs. I ordered this system from Amazon and am eager to try it out on the trail. Thanks Dr. Ernie.

I do love my community coffee with chicory in the morning. That being said… this looks like a decent set up. I own 4 of the Stanley French presses that I pre measure 1/4 cup of the before mentioned community coffee with chicory. They fit in my 2011 F-150 coffee mug holders. I hope you hit your desired subscribers… I have followed your amazing videos for a very long time. God bless and Happy New Year

@@chado_outdoors me too… they have made me coffee all over the planet, kayaking long river trips and hiking the high country of the Rockies. Oh! I was number 2. So close. I think this would be interesting to compare to the GSI pour over system I already own as well as the rubber UST filter . Both makes a very good cup of coffee, although the UST requires a paper filter. Thanks from an FP doc.

When i worked for the EPA labs companies, we found that you can actually use the coffee grounds TWICE! Use it twice, if you don't mind a slightly weaker flavour, or add a little fresh coffee to get full flavour. That way, you stretch your coffee grounds for more drinks. You might even made small coffee bundles by adding the right pre-measured amount to a coffee filter, then tying them up with some dental floss. B TW=- you can also get 12V 'hot pot' water heaters that you can use in the car to make coffee on-the-go.

STILL think the MAXI Ti MOKA POT is the go to for many , obviously at a higher cost and perceived value for it's lighter weight titanium construction.
@quebecpatriot1874 Жыл бұрын
Been using this contraption on and off all summer thing is you cant have the coffee brew steep,only the very fine (and easily clogged) mesh does some form of slowing down which could be construed as steeping; its light and small though.
@umaiar Жыл бұрын
This brewing method is called "pour over", and it intentionally doesn't steep the coffee. It makes a lighter and cleaner cup, theoretically with more nuance. The problem with this device isn't that it doesn't steep the coffee, it's that you don't prefer the style of coffee. Personally I agree, I prefer steeped coffee. For weight, size, ease of use, and simple clean up, I love my Aeropress.
