My XR650R has boiled on a few single track rides. For years it's been recommended to replace the stop cap with a lower pressure cap. I never did it.

I've been fortunate and not had a boil over yet. Some increase the radiator cap pressure, which raises the boiling point. I have elected not to do that, as it also places more internal stress on the radiator tubes and seams, the hoses and gaskets. Some add aftermarket fans at the radiators, which I also have not done. The fans would be a solution, for sure. My concern with the XR650R, however, is the stator output. If I added fans, the stator would be upgraded, too. I'd step up to a higher output/wattage aftermarket stator.
