No lie. This is Tech Deck finally stepping up. I used to go to the TD offices with a bunch of influential fingerboard locals. We sat down at a table and got shown concepts and were asked what we want. The biggest push we had was for better scaled obstacles since TD obstacles are generally real short, hard to get things done on. Their only issue was package and shipping costs pushing their idea into a different retail price bracket. These meetings seriously started as far back as 2005-2006.

@@yeetteet3739 I’ve been fingerboarding since 02. Ran the first event series in Southern California. Got Blackriver Ramps to sponsor and even send a local team rider a contest park for events. This was before Blackriver was even available in the US. My KZbin was killing it back then. Life happens. TD used to invite us for our input since we were respected in the scene. They have always met us in the middle by half heartedly making what we asked for. Like the wooden ramps, that funbox with rail, That’s a junior high wood shop project packaged in TD graphics.

I just got back into tech decking and just learned how to kick flip. I love plan B but damn 70 dollars is a lot when I can use that money to buy an actual board from plan B
@KendallBertaux1 Жыл бұрын
I completely agree. $70 is the price of some normal sized boards. But it is still cheaper that some of the higher end fingerboards.

I wish someone would give an unbiased opinion on how exactly these compare in value to the top of the line completes that run for over $150. Does the pro tech deck series prove that the other fancy stuff is over priced or is a $150 fingerboard literally over twice the quality of these tech decks? I’m doubtful. I’ve never been tempted to spend $150 on a fingerboard, but I would dare to buy one of these tech decks if someone said they were nearly as good.

Having the board completely assembled might be a good move on their part. For me assembly is part of the fun but I could see some [targeted] buyers not being very excited about having to put it together themselves after paying >$50 for a fingerboard.

Well with that price, there are a lot of better fingerboard companies out there. It's not like the old days where good brands but expensive are only Blackriver, Berlinwood, Flatface etc. A lot of smaller brands are out there that provides better quality. Not gonna lie tho, this is a huge step up from tech deck

Tech deck is still way overpriced. I heard the finish on the metal rail fades quickly and the brick material on the funbox is cheap plastic. Tech deck is like combustion energy (minus the emissions😂). It gets the job done and is profitable, but there’s better options that make more sense for the consumer. When tech deck is all you know, it seems like the best option. Their ramps are small, cheap plastic material. No room for tricks. The “rails” sound like a dud doing a 50-50 on a plastic rail that also doesn’t hold still while you grind. I have a tech deck skatepark (~$100); but I realize now after buying real fingerboard obstacles it’s more of a novelty than a functional piece. Hope this helps!🤙
@AltonioesAlto Жыл бұрын
Tech deck made ramps in the late 90’s that were larger and made with metal rails. Grinding on metal rails is where it’s at. The half pipes they used to make were legendary. I wish they’d go back to their roots in terms of the ramps
