This week on Tech Pick of the Week, we focus on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) specifically carabiners. It is always good practice to inspect your gear on the regular. Our tech expert Luke Bryan breaks down a few key elements to look into while inspecting your carabiner cache.
Before beginning inspection on your carabiner make sure to note all key components including body style and locking ability. Two important areas to inspect on all carabiners include checking the hook or locking system for nicks or locking issues and the other area is to check the body of your carabiner for any scratches or wear marks that exceed 1mm in depth.
These simple checks can help to keep your gear and team members safe!
For more information on PPE inspections or to enroll in the PPE Inspection Courses being held in Seattle and Portland this June please visit the Rigging Lab website below.

Just a heads up, the truss on the viewers left in this video is assembled incorrectly. The diags should meet at the junction, not run parallel. I love your videos, keep up the good work!

Brandon Domercq thanks for the heads up, those trusses have been taken down now, but we will note that for the next build...we are always looking to do things the best way possible so we appreciate the heads up.

Darren, these short weekly updates help to give advice and tips to all audiences in a quick and concise manner. We will still be releasing in depth training video's and series as the year progresses. Is there a training you had in mind that you would like to see?
