Cathie Wood is clueless ... these dime a dozen analysts know their own business very well (i.e. scamming investors), but not the businesses they invest their clients in. This woman is talking BS on Tesla, Tesla is not a leader in battery cell cost or technology .. and certainly not a leader in autonomous driving, where they consistently rank at bottom of the heap. The true low cost Lithium cell producers are in China ... and several Autonomous Driving system companies have systems 1-2 autonomous levels in performance above Tesla. Don't be duped by these Wall Street bafoons, whose job depends on inflating Tesla stock, to enable Tesla to print more free capital via more secondary stock offerings. The reality, TSLA has been in a decline trend since early Dec 2018 .. that will mark when future expectations hit a max fever pitch among retail investors ..and a stock high that may persist for many years to come, as the stock corrects to the realities of making money by selling automobiles .. it's a tough cyclical business marked by stocks with low P/E ratios.

They have to 1. build a network of superchargers 2. build vertical scaled gigafactories 3. collect millions of hours of driver data for AI 4. By the time they do that Tesla is going to have a solution to solar panels. They have to do this before Tesla takes things to the next level, extends their battery range, goes a level up on driverless technology etc. You mentioned you want to see numbers. Take a look at the charts. It's ridiculous and even funny how bad Tesla is beating the competition. Sorry, the link I posted was outdated. As an EDIT share holder, she mentions it working in model organisms. I am pretty sure that the editing itself was successful (which is great) , however that still does not prove that it accomplishes the goal of reversing blindness from LCA10 in humans. Excited to see the clinical results though.

I'm saying that even if they end up actually finding one that works with no off-target effects (which again is very unlikely) those patents might not be worth anything in the US cause its illegal to gene edit on humans.

@@robertsaunders30 Dude 5 years is not even close to enough time. We can barely get CRISPR to work with no off-target mutations in flies, mice, etc... let alone a human. Trust me as someone who uses this technology we need much more time. These companies are a long way away from finding cures for cancer/diabetes/blindness and frankly are a speculative investment at best and gambling at worst.

While I agree with you that her timelines are too short, I disagree with you on US illegal gene editing. It's illegal (in the US) today, that could all change in a year or 2, IF it turns out we can actually cure something, congressmen represent the people, and if a company starts showing off proof of 100% success rate in curing blindness (or anything) in a host of animals, then human trials will begin. The Street is, as always, being more sensitive to the bear case than the bull case. they have to be. she has picked the major bull case for a reason. saying hey, i think your being to bullsh on curing blindness, is like saying, in the 1980's, hey i wouldn't be to sure about that internet thing, or in the 2000's, hey i wouldn't be too sure about that smartphone thing. she is literally not being optimistic about this. she is being realistic, pragmatic, picking innovators that have a proven track records of not being one hit wonders, but consistently over performing. sure, she even agrees that these are long term bets, and that every bet won't pan out, but she analyzes with the best of them, and she knows better than a lot of of people the nittty gritty stuff that actually matters at the end of the day. but with the bear case , it will always be, hey, i can't even imagine how that would work. yes, yes you can't. that's why your bears and not bulls. if she's being over optimistic, it's because she knows something you don't.
