For me it doesn't have to be an IT call. I've called bank, or just different customer service and sometimes the voices are relaxing.

The fast talking makes it seem authentic, a lot of the calls similar to this is a slow communication speed which doesn’t have the right feel to it

I used to work in customer support for an acquiring bank. It was awful. The customers were screaming on the phone permanently because it was all about their money. Worst job ever to be on the phone all day and say sorry all the time for things you didn’t cause and solving others incompetent failures.

I worked in a call center contracted for health insurance. The job actually wouldn't have been that bad, I could deescalate 95% of irate clients without help from supervisors. But the management was awful, the building was filthy, our equipment was constantly breaking, our virtual machines would glitch and freeze. No sick leave and everyone was getting sick all the time.

Perfect. I'm getting a bit bored of phone surveys/questionnaires that don't understand that my main trigger is it sounding like an actual phone call. Why would I get triggered standing next to a person in a call center calling someone else? Love it!

I wish the tech support person I talked to in real life the other day was a nice as you are. Spent twenty minutes trying to get them to set up a time for a repair crew to work on my phone line. If you saw the transaction from that conversation, you would die laughing. Biggest issues: 1) Their strong desire to get me to give them my social security number. And 2) What number can we reach you at? "Um, my phone not working is the problem?" Geez! A simple: "We'll have someone out as soon as possible" would have been great. Ok, enough venting.

Well, they were probably hoping you had a second number. I used to work in a call centre servicing T-Mobile. I hated troubleshooting because of the dumb questions we had to ask in the beginning. Then try calling Dell. Oh God. "Is your compooter plug in?" "Is your compooter on?" No jackass. I thought I could use it while it's off. That's why I spent 45 minutes on hold hoping you'd tell me how to do that. 🤦‍♂️

*lol* I know. They tell them to ask all the questions. I just wish when calling the monster known as Windstream, they would just say: "There is an outage in your area and we'll have it up as soon as possible." That's enough for me. As to them always trying to get my social....I doubt there are a lot of pranks telling them to go to other houses. And if someone is wanting to pay my bills, please don't stop them! I honestly feel like I get better customer service when I talk with the computer board. At least it can get me to the right department. And doesn't sound annoyed that I called. Maybe the machines SHOULD take over...
