THANKS for the light you drop on understanding the manual... i did bought but it was hard to read, specially the electric system. I suggestion, if possible, to do shorter videos with the diagram and then a physical view of it... it would be great! thanks again

Hi and THANK YOU! The missing ground connections are listed in the previous diagram, Pg 97.60. They are the same for earlier and later, so I guess they want you to just refer to the earlier chart. :D I am so grateful for all of your good humor and thorough videos! I'm a new van owner and this stuff makes allllll the difference. Keep it up!! :D

Thanks for your explanation of the wiring. I have a 1980 European model with a 1600 CT engine that is carbureted. Does the Bentley manual cover that model?

No. You want to find the blue Haynes manual. That should cover the European models.

Kudos for the Video clip! Apologies for the intrusion, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you ever tried - Tarbbatigan Cars Rehabilitation Tip (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a smashing one off product for learning how to repair your car the easy way minus the normal expense. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my work buddy at last got excellent results with it.

hello can u tell me what the manifold heater does, i have a melted red cable connection in the black box upper left engine compartment. The red wire coming from the front/underneathe the car going to the black box has 12v contineu, that red cable goes to the manifold heater. doesnt it need to be key on 12v, now the heater gets power all the time??? thanks

It is the heater for the crank case vent tube on the top of the engine. It keeps that tube from getting gummed up with oil sludge in the winter. If you look at the intake boot you will see a unit near it that has a plug on it. That is the heater you are talking about. It should be hot when the key is on.

Yes. There is a whole new section in the rear of the manual that includes lots of good info.
