Sometimes FAT32 is necessary because older devices can't write properly to exFAT, and I learned it the hard way, lost more than 3 hours of footage. After like 8Gb of footage it starts writing over the first videos. So if the manufacturer says "max SD card of 32Gb", you better believe it.

I just can't grab a concept of Allocation size though. I got a seagate 4tb HDD and before storing any data, I switched it to ExFat because Androids can work with that. But it gives me allocation size. Like 2kb or 4kb. But I am not sure what that is, but it still means I can store up to 4tb of information ?

which Format has the more programs that work with it when it comes to extracting data of of failing hard drives? and which format is better for a hard drive with caution status in cristaldiskinfo, the "classic reallocated sector count". These are the things that could be in your video. Not the "you should use this or that". Maybe make a part two answering these questions and you will get more views.

I thought NTFS had a max file size of 4GB. Has that changed, or was I just wrong?

Nope, I think you probably confused it with FAT32. The standard format for a Windows HDD is NTFS and if that was only 4GB you wouldn't be able to copy over anything bigger than 4GB. Which would totally suck. You can quickly google just to make sure.
