I have an axle I want to flip, (turn over) as well as put below the springs, from a 1969 Shasta camper trailer. The axle is 58 " from wheel to wheel. It has an upward angle right angle bend at each wheel 3.5" measured from the center of the square tube axle. I want to keep the brake adjustment and wiring in the correct places so I have to unbolt in order to switch the wheels. I will weld a large washer so the axle will not slip on the springs. Is what I am proposing something that is feasible? The trailer is too low for a camper trailer or just as a general purpose trailer.

What about custom size? What about how to place the axle on the length of trailer you are custom building?

What if I already have a trailer and I'm wanting to upgrade to a higher weight capacity to meet my requirements? I have a trailer right now on 3500lb TA, 62" spring center, from eyelet to center beam is 27.5", and from center of one spring to the adjacent spring is 32". But I can't for the life of me find an axle kit 5,000 lbs + that'll fit those dimensions....

SO WHAT YOU'VE NEGLECTED TO SAY RITE OFF IS YOU CAN ORDER AN AXEL TO FIT YOUR TRAILER YOU JUDT NEED TO KNO THE SPRING CENTERS AND HUB FACES ! I SAVE OLD TRAILERS ALL THE TIME PUT OUT TO PASTURE AND LEFT FOR DEAD NO BIG DEAL
