do the acasis enclosure compared to the T7 Shield improve your editing workflow or not really? Because i heard that you won't see any difference between a ssd like T7 and an enclosure in the editing. Only real advantage is the fact that you can transfer files faster but outside from this you won't see any timeline, export speed improvement, is it true?

That might be because most video editing is done on Macs. External drive usage is common for that. With that said, I use Samsung drives (T3, T5, T7, T7 Shield) for both Apple Macs and Windows machines. Eventually all that rubber on the shield is going to break down and get sticky. The reg T7 will always be nice. The T9’s rubber will get sticky too. So seems like in the long run the reg T7 is the best choice and it’s cheaper.
@MustangTogunner Жыл бұрын
I prefer the regular T7 because in Vancouver the humidity makes any rubber grip turn sticky so I choose scratches over sticky device

The T7 Shield is water resistant, and the humidity won’t sleep in. I’d say that outweighs a little bit of friction on your SSD.

one question: If you copy ten thousands of small files like pictures, the transfer rates break down with any SSD. But in the comparison T7 to T9 (what is twice as fast) - will the lower speed after a while be the same for both SSD`s? Or will the T9 still be twice as fast over the T7?

I think the reads and writes will be fine. I remember years ago when I was on a dial up internet and downloading was terrible at 56 whatever the technology was then was awfully slow. Today I have a very fast internet and things download very fast so I appreciate technology. Like the portability of the SSDs. I had 5k photos on a windows drive and something got me, even though I had Norton 360 and Malware Bytes that I was paying extra for, and lost all of it and couldn't get it back. Even though I've never lost anything with Google, I'm going to keep all my photos on the SSD so that never happens to me again. I had a Dell Desktop at that time. I also have the 2020 MacBook Air with M1 chip but I haven't put any photos on that one yet. Thank you for your comparison it was very informative. I ordered the Samsung T7 Touch from Samsung directly. When it's new, I don't have to format it as it is in ex-FAT format already isn't it?

Hi, I've been confused about getting a 2tb or 4tb version. 4tb is obviously more expensive and I'll buy it only if I need it. I've purchased a new go pro and want to edit sports videos and vlogs. Total footage would be around 2-3 hours in total or more but edited final footage would not be more than 12-18 minutes. Should I go for 2tb, will it be enough to edit a whole video?
