My brother told us he almost dropped his baby last night because he fell asleep while holding her. Fortunately, my niece's guardian angel woke him up on time to catch her. And now this made me think of having a device that will jolt him awake when he started to get sleepy. Which also made me think of sleepy drivers behind the wheels. My search on google led me to this STEER gadget. But what i'm expecting was some sort of nodes you can attach to your head to scan for brain activity for sleepy signs and a partner device that will jolt you up. Not just this watch-like device ... I mean, monitoring our heart rate isn't that reliable since people have different rates surely .. Well, seems like this STEER is some sort of a scam. Sad.

Can you set up your own personal "standard" heartbeat? I have a resting heartbeat of about 35 b/pm and I don't want to get shocked non-stop.

Kind of a useless device if it doesn't prevent the car from driving. Someone would just say "I'm not tired!!!" and then throw the device out their window. Sleepy drivers are a real problem, I just don't think this device solves it.
