using SA-D40 for 6 years now without any regrets ( i am sure it will complete 10 years or more ) .. still blessing my ears .. bought it at 8000 in Jun 2018 .. and i would have bought it now also if my budget was still under 10000 but i have a better budget now so i will go for a better sony home theatre in 2025 for my primary use .. won't even look at any other brands .. REASON : as friends, relatives and other family members have changed their NON-SONY speaker/home theatre once twice or even thrice in past 6 years .. life of other brands ( even big ones ) is simply just 2-3 years MAX that too with utmost care .. else for normal people other brands start to fall apart within months of usage ( kisi ke bache ne taar kheech di, kisi se speaker 3 foot se gir gaya toh toot gaya, kisi se paani gir gaya, kisi ne zyada volume pe zyada use kar liya toh sound hi change ho gayi speaker ki, kisi ke bewajah chalte chalte band ho gaye ), but my SA-D40 still maintain its day one sound signature despite some of the above mishappening .. same goes with sony TVs in my experience .. yes they charge a premium and provide 1-2 less features which may or may not be fancy .. but they are worth every ruppee

I’m not happy with my sub woofer, I have a 5.2.1 set up and sometimes I can not hardly hear the sub woofer other times it’s too booming and vibrating I watch Blu rays - Utube - Netflix - Cable TV. My set up is Denon 3800 amp, Bower and Wilkins centre/front L/R/ surround L/R/ Sub woofer and Kef Dolby Atmos front heights. Sometimes it sounds like more bass is coming from the other speakers rather than the sub woofer. Any advice greatfully received.

Sony d40 multiple problems: 1. Every time required power on through remote 2. No synchronisation with bluetooth volume, need to adjust separately bluetooth volume and home theater volume. 3. No memory settings, every time required all settings. After power off all settings reset.

To be honest, SA D 40 should not be there in this list, its completely different zone system, I purchased it in 2018 at 7200 rs, and its one of the best for Music and house party. If you turn on tv speakers for vocals with this system, you can enjoy thumpy effect in movies. But yes I will not call this system as a home theatre.
