Hi , I use Enterprise version. Have not tried on Express version. You can download evaluation version that has all the features. www.microsoft.com/en-us/sql-server/sql-server-downloads see the very first download on left. It will be valid for 6 months.

Hi Rick, sorry about getting back to you a little late, I was on vacation. Well let me answer your question this way, if your SQL Server is already built using recommended physical resources and NOT hurting for physical resources, then it is supposed to NOT impact performance, however it would consume your physical resources (CPU, RAM, Especially DISK IO) - Since it is part of SQL Server Engine, if you have build SQL Server with recommended settings, it should be fine.
