Why are you not using your Denon X3800 or the Marantz 7015 anymore?

The LS 50 Meta as a standalone is for a smaller room. Mate it with a pair of subs, however, and it's more than a match for the R3 Metas.

LS50’s are great speakers in their own right, no denying that. But they lack the sound stage and fidelity of the R3’s.

is this a audio review or show off?

LS50 meta needs a sub period. Then i can see it almost being head to head. Now as a pair on its own. I agree R3 handsdown. It's no comparison IMO. Its a completely different speaker

Thanks and I agree, both are great speakers in their own right. But it’s not just the bass, it’s the sound stage and instrument separation where the R3 shine as well.

You are getting a little carried away. The LS50 play a huge soundstage if you pull them off the wall and are definitely better at pinpointing imaging. The R3 Meta are great speakers, but they don't beat the LS50s at everything. I have a $30,000 front end feeding the LS50 Metas with subs, in a huge room and they can play very loud and clear, without ever getting sharp of edgy. As long as your amp can control the small drivers like an authoritarian dictator. The reason so many people think the LS50s break up and get sloppy, is because their amps are getting sucked dry and can't control the speaker. At 90db (or more) in a huge room, my LS50 META (or LS50) blend perfectly with the subs and the drivers are barely moving. The LS50s take a very stout amp to perform their best. The 8ohm rating on amps means nothing for speakers like LS50s that like to hang out in the 3-4 ohms range. 4 ohms dips need twice the power (coming from double current) and 3ohms need 1/2 again.
