The problem with Samsung is that, their phones have become expensive for no reason. Im even looking for another brand that offers better options.
@TechDaily11 ай бұрын
New Samsung phones are only full price for about a month or two. Then they’re discounted $50-$100, and by the 6-month mark, they’re $100+ off. By the 1 year mark, you can get them for like 25% off. They have an insane depreciation curve, so if you can wait, I think that’s the best move. But I do agree that upping the price on the S24 Ultra for example was a tough thing to justify
@denzowarmbad548611 ай бұрын

I have a Samsung A12 coming up to the end of a 3 year contract. Still working fine, just had a security update today. Only ever had a couple of minor hitches, Bluetooth can be a bit erratic and had to dig around for a solution to a USB charging/tethering setting which had a mind of its own. Only criticism I have of all current smartphones is that nobody makes a decent smaller screen mid price device, I have small hands and really don't enjoy messing with these 6.5 inch screens. Even the s22 ones (exynos models) stuttered a bit sometimes, wich was really sad as they had such beautiful displays and all the nice things goodlock offers. The first one that really felt great was the s23u, my current device. Maybe i can test the a54 somewhere bc up to now, i didnt even consider it as the soc is technically underperforming compared to other, cheaper devices and is just marginally better compared to the a34, the better buy imo. I'm watching from the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G, one of the most powerful midrange phones from Samsung even today with that snapdragon 778g 5g chipset, very smooth and snappy with that one UI 6.0 skinned on Android 14.
@paultasker778810 ай бұрын
I used mine for nearly 2 years before I started getting no sim card errors. That's the longest I've kept a phone in a while. Very good all rounder. I've replaced it with A54. Low light camera is biggest upgrade, performance is slightly smoother too. Battery a bit better as well but it is heavier. You feel that extra 500mah in your pocket.
@paultasker778810 ай бұрын
A54 is a good all rounder and a nice upgrade from A52s. Battery life is good. I paid 267 pounds from ebay seller which is a great deal. Thought id got used but found it was actually brand new. I first replaced A52s with pixel 7a but that phone is fab but buggy and stutters. The battery is also no better than a 2 year old A52s. So i got the A54 which on paper and in reviews loses badly on performance to the pixel but in reality is far smoother in most apps when scrolling. In games it'll cope just fine and be smooth if you lower the detail a bit or use samsungs game boost. The pixel has a better camera but its not night and day difference. Theres sometimes too much HDR in the pixel that makes samsung look nicer. Not better objectively but nicer. Pixel is almost pulling out more detail than you can actually see with naked eye. Camera is definitely a nice step up on A52s especially in low light.

For me, the 21 fe and ultra is probably the best reccommend on this video. They can regularly be had under 300$ for the ultra and around 200 for the fe and they are absolutely wonderful tlat these prices. Nobody with one of these has any real need to upgrade STILL. Along with the note 20 ultra, these phones have been absolutely stellar if you bought them at lunch to "future proof" as were pretty far into the future for a cell phone, and these phones are still absolutely top of the class in the budget and midrange

For that price difference, I would actually just get the regular flagship S23 for $640. The FE has a few too many compromises this year by comparison.
@triparadox.c11 ай бұрын
If you don't mind the extra $80, the S23 will have a better battery life. Snapdragon 8 gen 1 in S23 FE is a beast, but it's power hog. The Snapdragon 8 gen 2 is a bit better while being much more power efficient. But I've been able to daily S23 FE just fine for my own use because honestly, nowadays, charging phone is not a big deal (you can charge while at work if necessary).

My 2019 S10 finally died on me a few weeks ago. I was looking around for a new flagship to replace it, but I was insistent on having a headphone socket and microSD support. replace the A54 with the S23 FE and I think its a fair list. S23 FE u can find used for around the same price, maybe 50-100 more depending on condition or locked status. U still dont have to worry about paying for the gimicks as well as u get faster charging, better chipset, wireless charging, better cameras. I think between wireless charging, wider compatability, specs that will hold up for longer in terms of performance and better screen, cameras, and charging; the S23 FE would be a much better option. As of this comment time of posting, A54's run about 150-250 on ebay for used and 200-300 refurb. S23 FE's are about 200-250 used and around 300-400 refurb but you can find the S23 FE for the same and sometimes cheaper if you choose a locked phone to ur carrier. Also, alot of carriers offer the S23 FE as the free device trade in when u trade in an A series phone or Older S series (at least in my area). So I wouldn't call these features Minor or forgettable features. Not to mention stronger materials and wider range of accesories

With it's release date being so late Samsung has promised that the S21 FE will be receiving major Android updates upto and including version 16. Current Amazon pricing for new unlocked U.S. models is as follows: S24 $859, S23 $715, S23 FE $549, A54 $349. That looks like fairly rational pricing depending on your budget although not sure why anyone would pay that much for an S23 at this point when you can get the S24 for just $144 more. The A54 does look like the value play here although I’m happy having only paid $399 for my S23 FE.
@TechDaily11 ай бұрын
Samsung's standard pricing structure isn't terrible - their biggest issue is depreciation. They discount their phones basically right when they launch ("double the storage on us" promotion) and then right now, half those phones (S23 FE, A54) are $50 off. The S24 Series will probably be $50 - $100 off again in a few weeks, so you feel kind of yucky if you pay full price for any of these. Because of that, renewed and second-hand Samsung devices are worth even less. I mean seeing a used S23 be worth $450 is a tough pill to swallow after only 1 year. You can't get an iPhone 13 Pro for less than $500, and that phone is 2+ years old
@neils.984611 ай бұрын
What's the cause of that amount of depreciation? Why does apple. Not have same issues ?
@broskibrobro127811 ай бұрын
@@neils.9846A large supply. Samsung sell phones at every price range, which is good for the consumer when buying however. It reduces the perceived value of the brand, hence meaning that their phones depreciate fast. Also their midrange/budget sell better than the flagships. So they discount their flagships, immediately fate launch , further decreasing the perceived value. Whereas apple sells a few expensive phones and doesn’t really discount them.
@Raphaelus1310 ай бұрын
Thanks for this. Commentary that includes the depreciation of old models are the most useful.
