Libre office required latest windows 7 version so i go with wps office quickly install without any problem....I like it it's simple and useful

I have not used Libre Office in years, but when I did use it, I found it to be a really good alternative for those who need a word processor, but don't have the money (or simply don't want) to purchase Microsoft Word Products. I had to switch off from it, and move on the Word and PowerPoint, only because my college won't accept the file formats that Libre Office use it. This is great for people who need a office suite for personal use just to type something up (or for highschool students, though, do make sure to check your schools requirements if uploading is required.)

For the formats, you can save them in MS Office formats, in libre Office. You can used that option in settings. Only Office Desktop have this options.

Why not just get WPS? Ive been using it since it was Kingsoft 10+ years ago.

You can change the default file format that libre office saves files in. Open the main libre office program (not writer, cal etc). Go to tools then select options, scroll down to load/save heading and under there click on general. To your right You should see a heading called default file format. Under that heading look for document type drop down box. For each document type that you select, you need to pick the option you want from the always save as drop down box. Once you are done just click apply and ok and restart.

Only needed simple features (not a power user) and going OnlyOffice had menues just like MS Office that made the switch seemless.

Love google sheets but for some little features it seems like they are way behind. Libre Office, like that one too along with SoftMaker Office (and their free offering FreeOffice which is just a version of SoftOffice that is behind a year or two)/

I have office 365 family, because for €99 a year i get 1TB of cloud storage (onedrive) and the office apps (word, excel, powerpoint, outlook, one note, access* and publisher*) with all features^ and updates on 5 different devices and can share all of this with up to 5 people. To me this is a great deal however not everyone will think it is or simply don't want to pay so it's good that there are alternatives out there that get the job done for free *only on windows ^all features that are not business specific features only included in the business plans

Right with ya. I find that I don't need all the advanced features in Office as I'm just writing, not desktop publishing. The ability to switch computers and keep working is a godsend.

@@amazingbollweevil ... you can do the same thing with the free online version of Office. Works the same way as the Google suite. I prefer it just because I'm used to Office365 and there is zero learning curve, but ultimately both are pretty similar. The desktop version of Office, of course, has way more features than the online version. But the online app still does most of the basic stuff.

Well mostly needed for power users or heavy work like statistical analysis and financial modelling which may need macros but also Extension which google sheets don't have. I use Google sheet but am now trying to learn appscript for advanced stuff which is harder then VBA and Macros
