I find if I put it on steam for a minute or two after a coffee and have the milk frother turned off it pumps out the remaining water in the grounds out making it a lot easier to clean out the sieve. I usually also press the steam button and let the little heat guage get to the cup picture before turning it off to make the coffee to make sure it's hot enough to make the coffee.

Best video for this machine, i hadn't used it for ages, now again with beautiful lavazza coffee. I run a 3 of cups through steamer to heat machine and the cup, then i have nice hot cup of coffee, i hate coffee that goes cold, a cold cup will take alot of heat from drink. I had been overfilling the holder, so thanks for that too. Need a plastic spatula to remove the coffee afterwards from the holder, really stuck inside. Great review, glad i bought this machine.

Hi Andrew, did you ever have to fix an airlock in the machine; Mine seems to have a blockage preventing it from pumping water. In my Delonghi this is sorted with letting air out from the steam wand but it doesn't work with this one. Any ideas appreciated.

you need to grind the coffee freshly and do a thin grind and compress and tamp more coffee.

I have this model... I'm not sure if I understood your question right, but I'm guessing non-pressurized. Because only the basket that holds the coffee grinds is presurized... The portafilter is there only to hold the bascket locked against the group head.

The interior diameter of the large basket is 52 mm. I am wondering if the portafilter and the group head can accomodate a standard 58.2 mm basket... I don't have experrience with these things, but I'm guessing you might know more, since you asked about the diameter...

Extremely noisy and doing nothing. It's not pumping any water. Trying to relase steam by pressing Steam button and turning steam control in the direction of + but nothing happens within minutes...

I got this machine second hand and been using for about 5 months. I don't have foam in my coffee anymore even though I tried it with lots of different coffees. I also used the solution to clean it inside thinking that maybe it's the reason but no use. Any idea?

That might be because the coffee that you use is grind too course (too big). Try Lavazza Oro or Lavazza Espresso, they are grined much finer... Take care also not to over-extract it, because that's when it gets a burnt taste. This guy in the video is definitely running too much water through the coffee. If you want a longer drink, just keep the espresso short, and add some hot water in the cup over it.

You might be putting too much coffee in the basket. Look for the indicator line inside the basket and put the grined coffee only up to that level. It's written Max on it.

Thank you. I never would have found out that this machine has 1000 +- 200 Watt, and finally I know that this special espresso machine has 15 bar. And it has even an "on" switch. Oh, and there is a spoon! This alone must be worth the price of the whole machine!

Crappy machine, when you try to make coffee, water is only dispensing from the steampipe

Turn the steam dial at the side of the machine to the minus side, thats for steaming milk, i also use it to heat the cup, by turning it completely to the + side. It takes about 3 cup lots of steam , first two not so hot, to heat the cup, then put ur cup under the coffee outlet turn the steam fully to negative on the side, then just press the cup icon only for a beautiful cup of coffee, hopefully this helps, enjoy beautiful coffee
