After using the TV for more than a week, I have some things to add. 1. Blooming is really noticeable when subtitles appear on the bottom dark part of the screen, when opening the netflix app and seeing the logo, when playing a content and seeing the Dolby Vision logo. One workaround is to decrease the backlight to 40-50% and turn the local dimming to low. This also makes the picture appear with more contrast as it makes the blacks deeper. 2. 120hz with PS5 is smooth, no issues. I've been playing, Doom Eternal, Dirt 5, and Ghostrunner. But, when we play 60 fps games, there's minor ghosting when there's moving objects in dark areas. But, it can be completely fixed by connecting the PS5 to an HDMI 2.0 port instead of 2.1. 3. Eventhough this TV is brighter, the Hisense U6G has much better contrast ratio, which is expected as it has a VA panel. The blooming is also very less noticeable on U6G. 4. This might just be a compatibility issue. When I connected my Sont HT rt40, 5.1ch home theater to the Vu tv, the volume appears to be much lower than what I used to get with the Hisense U6G. The surround speakers sounds silent almost 70% of the time while watching something. With Hisense, it was much better, the dialogues were also much louder.

Sony x80j will not beat it as this Vu TV has exceptional motion blur handling capacity due to 120Hz refresh rate. Apart from this, Sony x80j has an IPS panel and no local dimming so its contrast ratio would not be enhanced according to scenes requirements. This Vu TV has full array DLED backlighting that exhibits local dimming. Blacks in Sony x80j will turn greyish in a dark room, whereas, this IPS panel Vu TV displays deeper Blacks. SDR performance of both these TVs will not be much different, but HDR performance of Vu TV will be better as it has much more Brightness.

The services of Vu are satisfactory. I know this because I had purchased a Vu TV in 2017 and when I faced some problem they sent their engineers to my place in Dehradun and replaced it with a new TV, even after one year usage. And, mind you, at that time my channel was not a well-known one! They provided me good services as an ordinary customer. About your second query, I am not sure as the track record of Vu in this regard is not good. Most of the companies do not provide timely updates. In this regard only higher brands like Sony, Samsung & LG are worth relying. In budget brands only Mi comes up with regular updates.

Vu 75 inches QLED TV was not so good. This masterpiece series is the best series brought by Vu till date. And, you cannot compare an OLED with a 4k TV as OLED TVs have the best Blacks and thereby their picture quality is better. But OLEDs have Burn-in problem so spending so much on them is risky and picture upscaling on them is not that good.

Thanks for the detailed video. Am looking to buy a 85 inch model and confused between VU Masterpiece and Sony X85J, the price difference is around 1.2 lacs, what would you suggest. Thanks

You can go with Vu Masterpiece but the 85 inches TV has different specifications, though, it is good.
