it's more important to do a few exercises properly and consistently (every day) then pushing yourself to the soreness limit few times a week and end up hating it ;) after all fitness is about fun & health :)

The best part about losing weight/getting fit is that it sucks and its one of the hardest things youll do in life, but once you see those results on the scale and in the mirror, it becomes an addiction.

Dis Master I agree. I remember coming home from a run in track from school and when I got home I felt so unhealthy and like I needed a salad and water or something of the like. What my mother cooked that day wasn't extremely unhealthy, the only thing unhealthy was the chicken and the juice I drank but I still felt like I needed a healthy meal and then I realized that it wouldn't be too hard for me to get into a good nutrition if I keep exercising. I'm someone who has never liked eating greens and all that diet stuff so the fact that I was craving them surprised and inspired me as well so good for me I guess

+Petit Ane White meat such as chicken isn't bad for you, and even red meat can be healthy in moderation. You'll find high amounts of saturated fat in nuts too so I guess they're not healthy right? Dietary cholesterol doesn't seem to correlate with the cholesterol built up in the body either. The Protein from animal products such as meat is what's called a 'complete protein' which means it contains a complete profile of amino acids, the plant proteins you are referring to are incomplete and on their own, do no provide sufficient amino acids. Also you can't get Taurine or B12 on a Vegan diet without supplementing (supplements are man made).

Start from anywhere , whatever fits ur goal: temporary or long term. I personally started with yoga just to get back my flexibility and fix body pain after my cancer surgery and weight gain. Switched to hiit after couple month because i was scared to re join gym. Worst mistake ever. My body couldn’t handle it probably. Had to take a break , gained more weight then gave up for a year but finally got back to it. this time, it was kick boxing ; did it for 3months , then switched to swimming(40 min or atleast 700m) this summer and still doing yoga 4-5 times a week. If i cant work out on sm day, i go for a walk , fast enough to raise my heart rate to be in zone 2 atleast . Lost 11 cm(4. Smthing inches) on my waist . I know it’s slow but im just trying to be disciplined and eating clean. I strated tracking my cal after kickboxing. I used to burn 700kcal approx and my bmr is around 1700( Used to eat approx 2200 but wasnt very disciplined ). After switching to swimming i burn approx 300 to 550 kcal and eat arround 1.6k to 1.8k cal . I knw sm do all this while fasting or on a very low calorie, below their bmr but every time i went below 1500cal , it just made me very sick and i end up catching a nasty cold so maye it’s not for me.

If any of you or future people see this comment, take it from someone who's been through years in hell but still retain it's character to the letter. I say steer the course, cause it's not worth enduring the pain from the past and perhaps something small like soreness, they both share short term problems, full commitment becomes easy if you keep trying and continue. You might fail, stop, or reflect, but I say again, keep on at it. I hope you started walking or jogging _before_ the "end" of the pandemic, as long as you distance yourself from others (and wear a mask if you feel safer that way), because who knows when this will truly be over? I'm self-conscious about my weight and larger body, and it took a while for me to realise that no one is as concerned about my body than I am, and that if anything, others will see that I'm _trying,_ I'm working on myself. So, hold your head high and start jogging or even walking, to start. Improved physical and mental health, including self-esteem are some of the benefits of exercise and moving your body more.

Exercising 4-5 days per week for about 2 years now has cured me completely of my chronic pain... Some days it will creep back, often when I skip working out for more than a few days... But otherwise I never get spasms anymore and I'm able to breathe for the first time in my life. Exercise is the best drug in existence and its completely free! Cannot recommend it enough

Then after a few months of daily exercise, I plateau. I try to keep the weight increasing but then I get shoulder pain. The initial inspiring energy boost is gone and I start feeling like I'm slacking even when I'm still lifting an hour a day, because I'm no longer ramping up the intensity. When this happens, it's good to research other work outs and change up your work out regimine. Find different ways to work out the same muscles or ways to work out ones you haven't been, even ways to work out different muscle groups at the same time. My body felt amazing when I took a class that pushed my body through work outs it wasn't used to. This and adding more meals that give a balance of protein, carbs and vegetables. My muscles took a much more defined shape by adding more balance meals and protein to my diet. I didn't even have to switch up my work outs too much.

Yeah most people don't even get to 30 mins of exercise per week. A half hour walk five times a week easily puts you over two hours but it isn't moderate. I do 390 minutes of exercise a week so almost 7 hours at that point you really need to love it.

I'm 56 and have always workout since i was 16 yrs. Old. Heavy weight lifting for 35 yrs. And can still lift heavy but i do supension pushups, and pullups. I jog 25 to 28 miles a wk. And can't imagine not doing some form of exerciseing. I see young people that r to lazy to walk across a parking lot and am just amaze how younger people like that get anything done because it seems like they couldn't clean their house, cut their grass, wash their car, or anything that consist of physical work for 30 minutes. If i don't workout i get depressed and feel like shit. I wish people would realize how important exercising is.

This is your mistake. You are thinking in terms of time and when it will be over when for a long term worthwhile change you need to be thinking much more permanent. This is why yoyo weight loss is a thing. Because people out the effort in for a bit and then think they did it and go back to old habits only fir the weight to return. It truly does have to be a lifestyle change. Build it into your week. Cycle when possible. Run short distances if time is short. Wake up 30 minutes earlier to do a little workout. Combine them all, stick with it and slowly become a one of those people who does sport. We are no different than anyone else. It's not a superpower. We just go and do it. Others don't.

Hey y'all, one piece of advice to newcomers to fitness: Start slow and go steady. I think people involved in the fitness community often forget what it's like to be a complete beginner, to be completely out of shape and weak. Or maybe they never were a beginner. Being in pain is bad. It's discouraging. It causes people to quit. Don't dive in head first and go all-in. If you live a lifestyle of relative physical ease and then suddenly can't walk for 5 days because you did some bodyweight squats, it's very discouraging. If you're coming from a sedentary lifestyle, anything is better than nothing. It's the small things we do every day that matter, not twice a year heavy workouts. Start with 5 minutes of exercise even, and commit to it. You can do it, it's just making small choices every day. It's not as scary or hard as many people try to make it seem.

Very very true. This was me for a few years ago. I'd get into fitness, get overwhelmed by how hard and demanding the exercise is and quit after a few days or so. I have now restarted but I decided to take it slow. Started with a 5 minute exercise, I have now progressed to a 15 minute exercise and going strong. Consistency > intensity

00:07 if that's true then there's a very funny trend happening in America. You have both obesity and fitness increasing in two seperate groups that are literally going in opposite directions. I guess the fitness increase might be a reaction to the obesity epidemic, but it's still strange to see. I wonder what the outcome might be.

I actually now love muscle soreness - gives me the feeling I pushed my boundaries a little further. Now I can run 5 km in 25 minutes instead of 30, and workout 1.5 hour after that straight away. And throughout the week, meh, just biking 10km a day to college and back ^^ And it's true, the first few weeks of that biking made my legs feel like carrying concrete. But now I've gotten used to it. Same with swimming also. When I started, two years ago (after 8 year break ), it was a GOOD deal tougher than I remembered. But now I can swim an hour straight, or 1km swimming in roughly 35 minutes. And keeping this up, I hope to join the army coming year. Good luck you guys with your fitness, and wish me luck for the Army please. ^^ And cheers for this video also! God bless, take care

"Exercise smart and often, and you'll be running marathons in no time" Yeah, no thanks. I mostly did long distance endurance runs growing up. I ran one marathon, and that was enough. I now just do weightlifting in the gym, and low intensity cardio (hiking) outside. I'm injured far less often, I feel much better and have more energy than any point when I was a runner. I still think running is a great sport, and I love checking out results from top track athletes and runners. I just don't think the average person should look at running marathons as the pinnacle of athletic achievement.

Start at a lower level of intensity for whatever activity you are doing. You’re not doing anything wrong; its just that your body needs more time to adjust if you’re very out of shape or have some other health issues. For example, you may not be able to run a mile continuously (which for some is a benchmark of fitness) but take breaks in between or jog at a slower pace. You can do it!
